Puts a different spin on how I perceived him. The "I was taking my son to get ice cream" quote of when he learned of the trade, made you think he was a good family oriented guy. Granted, I don't know what the situation was, but this certainly doesn't look good.

On the floor wise, this won't have much of an impact if any at all. Stan has started to stagger Dre and Blake with Blake getting time at center. Backup center has all but been eliminated as a cog of the rotation. If Reed isn't allowed to practice during the suspension, its going to put him even further behind.

I know I'm one of the very select few, but I still like Moreland better anyways. The likely scenario was always that Moreland would be brought back, and Reed go elsewhere this summer as a FA. This only furthers that likelihood.

Probably why he was included in the trade - so Detroit had to take the stank for this suspension.

Oh well. We kept Bullock despite his suspension. We just go 8-9 deep.

It take the league 6 months to decide on a 6-game suspension for an offense in which no charges were pressed?

This should've been taken care of at the start of the season.

Between Dre,griffin and Moreland we should be fine at C. It's not a great look tho. If he wasn't charged then, what can you do

Oh well. Domestic cases are never black and white. Hopefully he isn't a head case.

Heard about this and then saw it happened in August. Pistons had to know what happened and I assume got more details than we will ever know. They still brought him over and gave him minutes. I am assuming that based on the Pistons proceeding, no charges, the short suspension, his wife still being with him, and he voluntarily went into counseling that this was a one time bad night that dumb choices were made and he is not going to be continue down that path.

This apparently was his response to her telling him she wanted a divorce. He told her fine, but she wasn't going to take anything he bought her - including the purse she was carrying.

And I wouldn't call anything he agreed to "voluntary". That was part of his diversion plea deal. He had to jump through some hoops to avoid the charges.

Anyway, not sure why this is so complicated. Don't hit women. Don't grab women to keep them from leaving. Just don't.

Not much to say on it. The guy is an expiring contract, and not even in the rotation.

If the Pistons decide to add a new player with the trade exception, or the disabled player exception (much more likely), they'll probably cut Willie and call it a day.

Timing of this suspension hurts potential deadline dealings as well because if we include Moreland in any deal for salary matching purposes we play five games with Brice Johnson as our back-up Ce.

We didn't even play a backup C until garbage time against Portland. We won't miss him.

For sure as long as Dre, Blake, and Tolliver play the way they have been and we don't run into an injury or too much foul trouble it seems like we're fine without playing a backup center.

I don't think missing Willie Reed for six games will have much effect. Good thing we have Eric Moreland in case there's a need for a few energy minutes.

Someone commented in the wiretap blurp about the Nelson trade, that Reed dragged his wife across the floor by her hair and beat her. Don't know if that's true or not, but if its even remotely close to what happened YIKES, glad that guy is gone.

Despite his off court issues, last nights game would have been the perfect time to play Reed. Both Dre and Blake being off. Oh well, I guess we can lock this thread now...
