Yeah, we were a lesson in not letting coachs have dual roles since one will inevitably get worse since humans are naturally terrible at multi-tasking.

In a way, it makes since why there's so few cases of Coach/Prez actually being successful. A coach's job is to always be competitive, and if they were also given GM powers, then they would always try to swing for the fences no matter what. It's an unsustainable model for the long term since it all but means that any thing that resembles tanking is absolutely out of the equation.

Similar to what David Griffin said about Lebron and others taking max 1 year deals each year which all but guarantees that you have to cap strap yourself with all sorts of talent each year and losing bazillion picks in the process. No long term success is tolerated.
