Just wondering, why would you hope that? If you're a Piston fan that would be stupid.

Simple, so many on here judge him without giving him a fair shot. I have been a Piston fan since Walter Dukes, George Yardley and Gene Shue...i've paid my loyal fan dues. I am just tired of see a very talented guy being played mind games with.

Running down your fan credentials means absolutely BLEEP to me when you're wanting a player to succeed elsewhere instead of hoping he gets the opportunity and succeeds here. It's been said on here already Luke was hurt all offseason and preseason.

His minutes was getting jerked around early when EVERYONE who's not Dre, Blake or Ish minutes were. He just happened to get hurt and miss games during when Casey started to settle more in on a stable rotation. Plus as also been said, Casey likes aggressive guys. Kennard turns down too many looks. It's his first game back, relax dude.

Luke was plenty aggressive today. Just extremely rusty.

He passed up a couple open looks, but yeah, mostly the 0-5. He got up more shots than Galloway in half the minutes.

Defensively, he's not at all aggressive enough. He's never going to be a stopper, but he has to stick his nose in there and make a pest of himself.

One awful game doesn't mean a ton in isolation. Granted I didn't see the game, so that's easier for me to say.

All we can hope is that they're able to shake it off. We've got a long month ahead.

Casey has shown that he will let guys play through bad shooting nights (not like he has much of a choice with our collection of "shooters" but still). Kennard has to take those open shots and not second guess it. Unless you can play D like Brown Casey is not going to play a SG/SF that is afraid to shoot.

Would't put too much into Luke's poor game and limited minutes. Setting aside his GRDrives stint, it was only his first game back from an injury, and very few coaches would be willing to immediately give such a player heavy minutes when rust, conditioning, and fluidity/fit with the others on the floor clearly needs to be worked on after a significant time away.

It could take a few games, but he should regain his form & playing time sooner rather than later.

It seems to me that Dre is often struggling against long and strong bigs. He has te be stronger himself and not soft like he is.

DTP wrote:It's his first game back so I'm not overreacting about tonight but man....Casey has to get over his bias against Luke. He's the best shooter on the team, you need him in lineups. In his very small amount of time in the 2nd quarter, I'm pretty sure he saw no time with Dre or Blake. It's like Casey doesn't even want the kid to be put in positions to earn more time....

The only bias in play here is fan's desire to blindly play Kennard maximum minutes, simply because he's Luke Kennard.

Never mind it was his first game back after missing a few weeks, and had played a total of 43 minutes going into the game last night. Ever think that maybe just maybe throwing him into the fire might not be the best course of action for Luke or the team?
