Your coach was Jason Kidd... I would argue that is by far the biggest difference. Brook lopez’s Rebounding prowess is probably not very high on the list.

I mean, you think swapping "the worst duo in the league" for "one of the worst center rebounders in the history of the game" results in a 27 spot jump?

The rebounding difference is Brook Lopez. Argue what you want, but anything other than Brook Lopez being the single biggest factor is wrong.

And Thon Maker's defensive rebounding % is way up. I guess Brook made that happen also. None of this could have anything to do with the offense and defense improving massively with health, a huge upgrade at coach, a competent center, etc. It's all because Brook Lopez boxes out entire opposing teams as he watches the ball sail over his head.

There's a stat for everything...

Anyways... I'm done thinking about Brook Lopez for 2019.

121 pts., and Luke Kennard can't get an honest shot because of his defense? Who is playing good defense?

Johnson's new shtick is a freight train to the hoop, over anyone in his way.

Good defensive coach, sure but his rotations are horrible, his team doesnt seem very prepared on a nightly basis, his offensive system doesnt get the best out of anyone. Up until recently he did get these guys to play hard every night but that hasnt been the case as of late.
I think they played hard because he took away offensive discipline and structure, let em bomb 3's, and go one on one. Excited them for a while, but when 3's stop dropping they have nowhere to go. Think the other coaching problem is he lets them play outside their abilities. Also believe Drummond would be serviceable if he would just stick to what he's good at. An example is when he hustles for a good offensive rebound 10 or so feet from the basket, too often, he sees it as his green light to go 1 on 3.

We don't have a starting PG, a backup PG,
A small forward or a backup small forward,
Or a backup PF. That's 5 missing on an 8 man rotation. Not good!

" Think the other coaching problem is he lets them play outside their abilities."

I don't think that's a coaching problem. I think that's a roster problem. You aren't winning in the current NBA without some multi-dimensional players with decent basketball IQ. Dre shouldn't need a lot of coaching to know that if 3 guys are on you, you've got an open teammate. And really, all of our guards and wing guys need to be able to shoot, pass, and drive like actual NBA players.

You're not going to win without being able to hit threes in todays' NBA.

If you wanna argue that point, fine, but what I think is beyond dispute is that if you're going to build your offense around a pair of bigs, the rest of the rotation absolutely needs to be able to hit the three ball.

Casey's trying to force it, but I think letting the roster "play to its' strengths" as they were, simply won't work. The roster simply isn't set up to win at the moment.

That's not to say I think that Casey's doing an amazing job, but I don't fault him for pushing the three hard.
