Thanks but I wish i was wrong and Henry will stink the rest of the season, but i don't see that happening ,i think he will continue with the same results from the last game for the rest of the season if they give him 36 min per game.

Fill us in on why you think he will keep up this production. Not saying your wrong but you seem to really be intrigued by him.

It's inevitable that Ellenson will produce more with the Knicks than us but that is only because he is almost guaranteed to see very extended minutes. That doesn't mean he is all of sudden an NBA caliber player.

I hope Henry does well. No reason not to. But I doubt he’s in the NBA next season

If he does keep up the raw stats which he might given the roster he’s on then I kinda get the feeling the advanced stats are going to show a different story as far as his true impact cause he’s almost gonna have to shoot great stat lines to make up for his shortcomings as a big.

He’s got a pretty shot but from college all the way til one game with the Knicks it’s been inefficient.

For whatever reason, Henry wasn't bumping Leuer out of the lineup, so there weren't going to be minutes for him next year. His '18 summer league kind of killed his chances for this year with new eyes watching. I hope he gets a job as backup PF/C for a couple years and makes a good living. Releasing him was in his best interests and I'm glad he's getting some court time before the season ends.

we did him a solid since he can showcase for a guaranteed contract or a training camp contract

Like it or not, Henry wasn't getting any playing time on the Pistons so it was time for him to move on. I hope he sticks around in the league but its still a long shot.

“Fantastic minutes,’’ Fizdale said. “I didn’t think I’d play him 36 minutes, but he played so well. [General manager] Scott Perry was telling me about this kid. He was drafted 18th. He’s got the talent but then lost his confidence. Let’s see if we can build him up and see what we have.”

Not so much lost, but taken by 'Soul Crusher' Van Gundy. Was a much worse coach than drafter.

If SVG were coaching the Knicks, he'd give Henry a DNP next game out like nothing even happened. Let's see what Fizdale does.

is anyone actually upset about "losing" henry? dude was hot garbage with us and had no chance to break out here. I'm happy he's getting a chance on a team that's got nothing but ping pong balls to play for. that's his ceiling, a decent rotation player on a crappy or mediocre team. will never be a rotation player on a team that's trying to win.

1. Pistons do make dumb decisions. Square pegs in roind holes, underdevelopment of young players, canceling out young talent with overpaid vets, etc.

2. That being said, I still don't see Ellensons role here. No defense. If your trying to win hes not an option. Will he play over Knox, Mitchell Robinson, Zion... anyone in NYC next year... no.

3. Stanley Johnson was better and more useful option as a playmaking 4 with elite defense than just trying to plug in a stretch 4 with bad defense.

4. SVG is the anti development, anti leader coach.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

I know most disagree but I think Darko would have been wholly different if he was drafted by any other team in the high lottery that year. He came here and Brown hated him, and the players were all 10+ years older than him and he was treated like a mascot.

Ellenson should have been in the G-League all last season - what SVG did to him was developmentally criminal. No excuse to say "Look Leuer was lost for the season, we needed the 20 yr old as an emergency depth big just in case". Kid rotted away on the bench all season.
