Summer League isn't worthless for developmental purposes, but in the grand scheme it doesn't mean much of anything at all. Its usually dominated by guard play. Teams run very little actual half court offensive sets. Defense is sketchy at best, I mean when you have 10 fouls at your disposal a lot of times they just hack somebody instead of trying to rotate or move their feet.
Good summer league performances are encouraging, but they shouldn't have any stock put into them. Bad summer league performances on the other hand are slightly concerning. But again as far as a fan's perspective goes its an entertaining avenue to see our young guys on the floor together. Don't let it get you too high or too low on any player.
