Trey Lyles

Post#1 » by DetroitDon15 » Tue Jul 9, 2019 12:31 am

I know that Trey just got his rights renounced. Is he worth a filler to add? We need another big and he can have an impact. He’s also young which we can’t say about a lot of the FA signings. Does offering the remainder of our MLE make sense? Sign and trade into a TPE maybe?

Detroit can only offer him a vet minimum and stay under the tax. He'll find more money elsewhere.

Unless they envision him as a potential center, Not sure why they would want him anyways since Blake and Kieff would be in front of him.

I loved Trey Lyles coming out of Kentucky. Haven't really follow his progess, or lack thereof, in the league, though. He's been on two good, deep teams.

He can play the 3.

He's definitely not a 5.

He's a 3/4 that might get had for the minimum or what's left of our MLE.

I'd take a shot at him but if I'm him I'm going to LAL

Unless they plan on completely red-shirting Sekou, Detroit shouldn't want another 3/4.

Assuming health, Blake and Kieff are going to monopolize all of the PF minutes. The immortal Tony Snell is going to take far too many of the SF minutes, victimizing all of Sekou/Brown/Kennard/Svi/Thomas in the process.

They need a 4/5, or even a pure 5.

and Galloway is going to steal minutes in the second unit.
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Good point, sometimes I forget he's even on the team. Assuming health, he shouldn't even be a consideration for the rotation but he'll probably be in there.
