Re: Westbrook trade yes or no
No.
This trade pushes us immediately towards being more competetive in the regular season with negative long term implications.
Any trade I would personally be willing to make for Westbrook (who has negative value), includes unloading Reggie and Dre, while retaining all our youth and future draft picks. That would allow us to become more competetive (entertaining) without completely leveraging our future. If that doesn't get it done, so be it.

I said no on this deal only because no way would OKC accept. They need to get below the luxury. They’d have to stretch Reggie to do so with this deal.
In regards to flexibility, Detroit will never be a player for guys like Kawhi, George and other superstars. They will never be willing to come here. I’m just being honest. Trades are the only way to add them. Having cap space means nothing. Just ask the Knicks how it worked out.
As I said, I’m sick of refuting the same arguments over and over again and getting nowhere. And now I’ve reached my limit on explaining that I’m sick of it too.

Re: Westbrook trade yes or no
Every opinion I've heard from people who get paid to give their opinion on sports doesn't support the Pistons getting Westbrook for any reason other than putting butts in seats and being more entertaining in the short term. I haven't heard a single analysis stating that it's a good move toward building a championship team in Detroit.

After watching him try to get in shootouts with Dame and fail hard in the first round, HELL NO.
If were going to trade for a pg I'd rather go after Russell when hes available in Dec. Hes young hasnt already passed his peak.

I don’t actually think this is happening which I oscillate with thinking that is good and feel like we missed out. If we give up any of our youth or more than 1 FRP I am disappointed.

I’m willing to bet we’ll kick the tires on Russell when the time comes.
I don’t see us having the right package for him though.

This is the NBA; superstars determine their destinations, even with toxic contracts. It's just about OKC attempting to leverage the market to get the most out of whatever Russ wants to go. Im happy to let Miami overpay.Snakebites wrote:buzzkilloton wrote:After watching him try to get in shootouts with Dame and fail hard in the first round, HELL NO.

Snell and Galloway and a 1st is better than dealing Andre though no?

For clarity, I was talking about D'Angelo.

If you are going to put a team around Westbrook and Blake then Dre needs to go. We will eventually lose Dre for nothing and you need more spacing anyway. Better to clear that salary, leverage whatever value Dre still has and keep our pick.

Yeah I was talking about DRuss as well I should of made that more clear. I thought the younger and being available in Dec would of made it clear but I can see how it confusing with the same name lol.
I'm not sure we've got the exact package the warriors are looking for either. Would they be interested in Drummond/Sekou/and a 1strounder? That seems like a pretty big package maybe Sekou or Kennard and one first rounder or Drummond/1st. They dont seem like they would want Drummond in that system but maybe depending on how the season unfolds they want to try it depending on how fast Klay comes back. I'm not even saying I want to trade Sekou but to get a player whos young with talent they dont come free.
The cool thing about DRuss is hes young enough that we could hold him through a rebuild. He could be our starting pg for a decade. .

I don't think we have anything on our roster that would interest GS.

Agreed. They want good players who fit with the modern style of the NBA. They're big jerks.
