Off Topic: Stafford deserves better

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Mon Nov 4, 2019 12:19 am

He’s in his prime and playing as well as he can for this cursed franchise. We’ve never put a complete team around him in his career. Either the offense is good and defense is poor or vice versa. No one loses like us in any other sport. I hate being a Lions fan so much.

I’ve met Matthew Stafford and can tell you he is a great human being that just wants to win here. He has an old school vibe to him. And he’s tougher than ****. If he was on any other franchise, he’d have a Super Bowl.

I want at the very least Patricia fired. Quinn can see his way out too.

They've done some questionable things recently. The lions seem to lack a direction. Seems very familiar unfortunately

Hopefully Hockenson becomes a monster next year cause i was excited about him after his first game lol.

Would be nice to see Stafford paired with a good/great RB or offensive strategy that balances the two outmore cause its pretty predictable whats going to happen out there.

I thought Best was that guy before the guy had so many bad concussions

Coaching and mgmt. Is always a reflection of ownership style. The Fords are a "keep it safe" family with a mild temperament and those they hire need to not rock that boat. Thus, a losing middle of the pack franchise with no fire in the belly.

Stanford is a “good” QB. I don’t feel more sympathy for him than any other “good” career Lions player who didn’t get to experience better. And certainly less sentiment of “that guy’s career got wasted” than guys like Barry, Calvin, and even Herman Moore.

No offense to her but how can anyone expect a franchise owned by a 94 year old woman (bless her soul) to be successful? Even when her husband was alive, he was a terrible owner for the reasons mentioned above. Ford has always been heavily persuaded by the people they hire. We're currently experiencing this with Quinn, Patricia, and "the Patriot Way" (which is a complete joke unless clones of Brady and Belichick walk thru the doors). Unless the franchise is sold to a competent owner, the Lions will always be the Lions. The Pistons are on their way to becoming them.

Isn't he one of the highest paid QBs in the league?
