Hornets rim protection is abysmal and you'd have Drummond there to pick up loose rebounds. Instead, he just shot up 3s at 1-7. Maybe still trying to get into game shape?
No he's actually too injured to play the game he used to play. He hasn't healed from last season and he hasn't seen the court all summer long. He's shooting because mentally he's deferring to less activity on his knee. The answer is he needs another superstar with him to make plays. Blake is a scorer first mentality. He needs the ball to be fed to him for easy buckets too. So our biggest issue is the point guard position. We're very weak there and it's been like that for a decade.
Brown might be viewed as this top flight defender by the coaching staff but IMO you need to lay a platform from the jump and control the pace of the game.
Rose is the most equipped guy we have that can do that from the PG position.
Gotta note that our rotation bothers me. I believe it compounds a lot of our problems as opposed to mitigating them as much as possible. We should be trying to hide our weaknesses as opposed to exposing them:
Lack of shooting - exaggerated by starting Brown
Lack of playmaking - exaggerated by starting Galloway or Snell.
A starting line up of Rose, Blake, Dre, Luke & Brown doesn't solve every problem but it should help mitigate the lack of playmaking and our inability to get certain guys (Blake & Luke) quality looks early.

At this point I honestly dont understand why Bruce Brown plays he gets torched on defense every game and is horrific on offense. Tim Frazier is probably a better option at this point.
Also though we have zero defensive players Luke, and Galloway got abused by Washington and Bridges all game and Rose gets stuck on every screen no matter how soft it is. The roster construction is bad it like they built the team off running a simulation on 2k.
