After purportedly completing its front office hires in September, the Pistons have added yet another position/hire. A former Pacers manager of scouting named Jason Buckner has been hired and given the title of Director of Draft Scouting.

Assuming he had that job for Indy in 2012 through to now and only looking at top 40 picks:

2012 - Miles Plumlee at 26
2013 - Solomon Hill at 23
2015 - Myles Turner at 11
2016 - Caris LeVert at 20
2017 - T.J Leaf at 18
2018 - Aaron Holiday at 23
2019 - Goga Bitadze at 18

Hard to argue they haven't made good picks consistently despite their pick slot.

How much of input he had in those choices is unknown but as the director of scouting you'd imagine he had a lot of input.

Aww, c'mon.... a good Pistons fan is only supposed to focus on all the superstars they missed in the draft.
TJ Leaf should've been John Collins... waahhh...
