Bad contracts?DetroitDon15 wrote:Snakebites wrote:GreekAlex wrote:
That’s a terribly depressing thought. I don’t know how any NBA upper management can dilute themselves into believe they’re close to the end of a rebuild when they are completely devoid of assets.
The way I see things, you’re probably 3 seasons away from contending once you hit on an all-star caliber player on a rookie scale deal.
Who knows if they even believe it.
They just know that it's what the man who's hiring them wants.
Gores doesn't want to rebuild the team. He's content to treadmill it out- if we get a little playoff revenue once every few years- that's good enough for him. He's not willing to endure 3 or so years of awfulness and the poor ticket sales that come with that in order to have a good product in the long term.
Call it short sighted, call it absurd, call it whatever you want. It's probably what we've got here. There's a reason we've alternated between mediocre and below average for about a decade now.
I’d they think that they are at the end of a rebuild, the are about as lost as possible. This team is so far off from competing and it has only gotten worse with the bad contracts and stretching of contracts. I still think that Gores is giving Weaver a win now ultimatum which scares me greatly.
Plumlee at less than the MLE...
Grant at market value...
What bad contracts have we handed out? The amount of whining about it suggests we've signed a whole load of them.
As for all the stretching of contacts - are any of them actually official yet or is it all speculation?
Even if true the speculation has us stretching Dedmon (no great loss) & Smith (would hate that) but the "dead" money is less than $3 mil.
And since all y'all believe Weaver doesn't know what he's doing y'all should celebrate the fact he doesn't have that $3 mil to "waste" on some overpay!
