Josh Jackson might legit end up being a star here. He’s hungry as **** too. More so than anyone else on the team. He reminds me of Rip Hamilton a bit on offense. On defense he is a mother****ing stud.

We need to start him.

Admittedly it’s early, but at this point I’m very glad they were able to sign Josh Jackson to a 2 year deal. I think they’ve really got something with him.

I hope Jackson can continue to play like he has, but this is still the preseason. Not everyone is playing at full speed, especially this year.

Can someone explain to me why with 2,8 seconds to play Hayes missed a layup when we are 3 points back..? Could not see the game but even if he gets a offense rebound after a missed 3 pointer you should try to make another 3 point shot or?

obviously it's a very small sample size and we didn't play the best teams (knicks x2 and wizards once w/o westbrook) but if there's one overall positive for the team this preseason it's that we had the best defensive rating in the league. the previous three games were 88.1 according to nba.com and tonight's game was ~92.9 depending on how you calculate possessions. overall in the four games we're likely below 90 PPP which would still be best in the league.

of course, our offense was worst or next to worst but you gotta look at the positives to start the year, right?

also, josh jackson is looking like a steal for two years at $5 mil per season.

Just remember, we really do want to lose 50 games or more. I know it’s not something anyone in the organization will say directly, but it’s still true. I refuse to get mad about anything, even playing time for the rookies, as long as we lose. A lot.

Killian should be able to play, improve, and still contribute to losing. Josh Jackson, if he plays like this, will not. That said, we need wings badly, so if enough others suck, that’s ok.

Okafor getting 20 minutes a game could be MVP for the future. Man that dude sucks.

I’ve definitely noticed his hustle is strong. He’s playing HARD defense and shooting go ahead 3s. If he makes them he can definitely become a star in his hometown. I say we keep this kid. He’s basically a lottery pick lol

Missed the game and just took a glance at the box score.
I see that the minutes leaders were Grant at 33!!!!! minutes, Rose at 27, Griffin at 25, Plumlee at 23.
Sekou with a cool 14 minutes and Bey with 3??? WTF is this?

I can't wait until Rose, Griffin and Casey are gone. Just go away so I can enjoy Pistons basketball again instead of this faux rebuild that they are selling to fans.
Yeah I know it's just preseason but you just know that Casey is going to play the hell out of the vets this season.

It's pretty clear that Killian will get his token start but minutes in the 20mpg range if he's lucky and none of the other young guys like Sekou, Bey, Stewart, etc are going to see any meaningful minutes. Not sure I'll be able to sit through many games of this.

Watching Rose and Blake chuck and ball hog is hard. But yeah, Casey had the rotation to go to vets and not develop the kids.

It seems Sekou is in the rotation at least. He'll probably get 15-20 per game depending on how he's playing. The other guys like Stewart and Bey are going to be waving towels for a while it seems. I think both get opportunities throughout the season when other guys like Okafor underperform or Blake sits due to rest or injury.

Which makes sense considering how vet friendly his coaching style is and it doesn't help that we got more vets than rookies/young guys anyways. I blame both Weaver and Casey

I understand the frustration with watching Rose and Blake shot chuck us to a slightly better but still wretched record than just playing the rooks. But this is Weaver. The only reason he hasn't already traded them is because the offers were so far south of decent even he could not pull the trigger.

This is not new that Casey is going to be school of hard knocks for the rookies. He will expect them to earn every second on a tight leash while the whole league gets to see how little game Okafor has left.

Here we go. My fear was on Casey to try to win the most games possible and use vets too much for that... Be prepared to see a lot of Plumlee/Griffin/Grant/Ellington/Wright lineup. First 3 preseason games were interesting thought.
