Didn’t look broken in those clips. I do agree with it being preseason though. Looked like he had forever to shoot the ball in those clips, regular season won’t have that. Like what flow said too, not sure he will get enough touches to be a ROY candidate. They are saying he might start though. He can handle it like a point guard.

I hope to god Killian pans out, because I think this kid will.

Luka is an extreme exception as a kid who showed right off the hop that teams were stupid for passing on him (Hello Sacramento).

I see what you're saying though about buying low early on before their stock rises but buying low is usually based on instinct and projection. For instance, if you really believe that Deni will be a star, a one game highlight clip won't be the thing that persuades you, it'll be based on the larger sample size of what you saw of him pre-draft and projecting that forward.

Hell, if we just looked at Killian Hayes jump shot in the first 2 preseason games, you'd think that taking him at 7 was a reach but it's about projecting forward with these kids and taking into account with drafting him that high that he'll improve on that shot which will take time.

Very true. I’m going to hold off on Deni, if he lights us up tonight I may buy some really quick though. Haha.

Imagine Okoro & Doumbouya playing next to each other.

But anyways I still like Killian, so as long as they get Moses Moody or Cade Cunningham next year they'll be ok.

But I hope after seeing Okoro win ROY, watching Wood win MIP, and watching Jerami Grant be the same 3&D player, that he is, Troy will learn something this year and be even better next summer.

Williams has been looking good too

Yeah Pat Williams looks good too.

I just had Okoro over William's for playmaking, plus Pat & Sekou are pretty much the same
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

How much money can you make if say for example you bought early on a guy like Lukas card like you were saying before he blew up?

Luka’s raw base Prizm was around $50 starting out (even cheaper). Now it’s $1,000. And if it’s graded 9 or a 10, even higher. Let’s say I bought 100 of them at $50 a piece for $5,000 total. That 5 grand is now worth at the least $100k.

The card market is crazy right now. Basically like a sports stock market.

What's going on with Kilian? He hasn't looked good at all. My question would be, does it make sense to start him already when Rose is still good? Or is player development the main thing this season?

Let him develop in the starting lineup. Hes still playing stellar defense and creating open looks for guys (even though they aren't hitting them).

His shot has not dropped at all though but let's see how he does once he gets a few to go in if he starts to get more efficient

Don’t know if this is old news, but this was new to me. Didn’t want to start a new thread for this, so I guess I’ll drop this here as he’ll probably be working closely with the rookies and Sekou. Former Nets’ developmental coach:

Don't know how much of a hand he had with Dinwiddie's resurgence into a starter and LeVert's improvements but not a bad hire

not quiiiite the context for the reply I’m about to make, but it’s 2020 so anything goes.

I hold veterans’ opinion of young players very highly, much more so than beat writers and coaches.

I remember Caron butler talking extremely high of dinwiddie while he was here, saying something to the effect that he could do everything on the court. I don’t remember the exact quote, nor do I care to look it up, so please accept my laziness.

I also remember keef talking very highly of sekou, saying something like “it’s only a matter of time before he’s carrying Detroit on his back”. similarly, I recall snell stating “that boy gets buckets in his sleep” about doumbouya.

take that however you want. it’s encouraging if nothing else.

Overall about a dozen rookies have looked pretty good there really was a lot of talent in this draft... at least NBA starter talent verdict is still out on # of all-stars but this draft got a bad rap for not having franchise players at the top but I think you're going to get a bunch of solid players from this draft.

She doesn't get a mention in the next clip so I'll assume they all left together before Covid hit

This is what was known. Deep for roleplayers, but no absolute stars. The talk about the draft being weak was mostly regarding the lottery not featuring any sure fire stars.

Yeah people just ran with that weak draft narrative like crazy cause there wasn't a couple stars at the top.
