By the way, Casey has three years and $21 million AFTER THIS YEAR - one thing’s for sure - he’s not quitting!

Yeah, as I mentioned above D'Antoni can do a decent job when he has talent to work with, but without it he isn't going to raise a team's bar. While true most coaches will struggle without adequate talent, he wouldn't be flush with talent if he were to take the Detroit job. I also don't really envision him being the right guy to take the long view and spearhead a rebuild either.

Wait, I thought Casey signed a 5 year contract with Detroit? This is his 3rd season here, so he only has 2 years remaining after this year. Or did he sign for 6 years?

Regardless, yeah he isn't going to quit and unfortunately I have a hard time seeing Gores greenlighting his dismissal until after next season at the earliest. Would love to be proven wrong on that however.

Should only be two years. Casey signed a 5-year deal and this is his third year with the Pistons. Not that he's quitting either way of course.

Casey was hired June 11, 2018. Signed a 5 year deal.

Can only hope Gores and Weaver remove him after this season.

My bad - the years of Pistons coaches and players are all blending together..... really any Coach who would push the pace and bench our stiffs and cripples would be fine. On a related note, Pistons centers have exactly zero three pointers this season. The last one Plumlee tried was five feet off to the left! Hard to put pressure on a defense when you have centers with no range and a power forward with no mobility

Return to Detroit Pistons
