Young guys played and the team will lose. Plus its getting some serious burn to the guys that the Pistons need to see if they are actually pieces for the future, or not.

Bench Wright, or trade him. Grant sits out with "leg contusion". After a month comes back and only plays half the games. Checks out for the rest of the league.

Saben Lee, DSjr
Josh/Svi
Svi
Sekou
Stewart/Plumlee

Yeah, I'm sure Grant will jump right on board that train.

No one cares what Grant thinks. Its the CEO/GM's responsibility to think beyond next week and Grant's feelings. Its the CEO/GMs job to make executive decisions that are the best for THE PISTONS, not Grant or Delon Wright or Blake.

If this team wants championship possibilities, its there for the taking. Tell Grant to STFU, we need a top 5 pick.

Once the team is:

Cade / Hayes
Josh Jackson
Bey / Svi
Grant
Stewart / Plumlee

After the Pistons go to the ECF for the next 5 years and maybe win a championship, if Grant is unsatisfied we can hang his jersey in the rafters.

People are so short sighted.

Or you completely underestimate the impact of explaining your tanking strategy to your best player.

Yeah it's Weaver's job to assemble talent, it's Casey's job to put that talent in a position to be successful.

Both here and now AND the long run.

Forcing your best guy to sit out is a mistake on so many levels and sends the wrong message to the roster.

You're telling them we are deliberately going to lose games so go out there and do whatever so that we do.

And you then expect them to stop doing stupid things because at some point we have "enough" talent to compete and now they'll have good habits and play better?

There's ways and means to lose games without making them not care about this season.

I don't know that sitting Grant would totally tank this team. These guys play hard and there are plenty of guys contributing. Lately we've been winning with Grant putting up 15 pts per game on crap percentages.
