That's where they sit right now and is a tougher call.

I think that would have to be a trade made, unless they really want Green, I'd take Green/Mobley/Suggs though + that player at 8.

Got an even crazier trade. What if we win a top 2 pick. We select Cade or Green then mortgage our future. We take our 3 2nd round picks and trade for low first inn this draft. Trade that to Houston to lift our trade pick restrictions in the future. Then trade Plumlee, Josh Jackson, COJ, Mcgruder, Oakfor and Sabeen Lee and 2 future FRP to the pacers for Malcolm Brogdan and Myles Turner. Pacer get cap relief because they can decline the options on COJ and Mcgruder. And they get two young player in Josh Jackson, Sabeen Lee and a good backup in Plumlee plus picks. We get to compete immediately.

Pg: Brogdan / Hayes / DSJ
Sg: Cade or Green/ Diallo / F. Jackson
Sf: Grant/ Bey
Pf: Stewart / Sekou
C: Turner / MLE = Whiteside or Noels

Plus we have Blake's money coming off the books next year and a very good mix of age and talent that can mentor our young players.

Nice looking lineup but I'm always wary about win now moves. I'd much rather let the growth/improvement happen naturally then fill in the needs as you go rather than pushing all in and hoping it works because you've left yourself few alternatives if it doesn't.

It doesn't work like that anymore. If you're trading for a guy with an option you have to guarantee the contract.

Well there goes that plan. Guess we would have to decline his option and use the space in the trade.

I see both ways. I lean more towards the trade because this team is a starting Pg, Sg and C from true competition. Either way it goes we should find a way to land Turner if we get a top 2 pick and take Cade or Green. He would be the best big next to Stewart outside of Mobley. I would be willing to trade Lee, Josh Jackson, all three 2nd round picks this year and future first for him. His shot blocking would make us a top 10 defense next year, plus he stretches the floor and allows Stewart to bang down low.

Pg: Hayes / DSJ
Sg: Cade or Green/ Diallo / F. Jackson
Sf: Grant/ Bey
Pf: Stewart / Sekou / Cook
C: Turner / Plumlee / Oakfor

Still a solid young squad, and we could could go out in 2022 free agency and get the best PG to lead the team. Hayes is good, but he's not good enough to lead us deep in the playoffs yet. I don't expect him to be there until the end of his rookie contract.
