Why?

If anything the addition of Cade seriously helps him more than anyone else!

He's now the #2 option at best and defences can't just focus on him and lock him up.

Mostly because Golden State hasn't done much this off-season yet. And Detroit has basically handed the keys to the franchise over to Cunningham now. It's Cade's team, and Grant will just be playing on it. Also I think there will be less of an impetus to make the playoffs this year, as Cade will sell tickets and put asses in seats and it's easier for the fanbase to get excited about the team even if they struggle again. Olynyk can play the 4-5, Lyles can play the 4, Doumbouya is a 4-3 now, even Stew could play the 4 if a Ce(Wiseman?) was brought in.

Saying all that Grant and Cade would work very well together and help each other and I'd be perfectly happy with Grant staying as we'd be a better team this year and in the near future with him. Saying I wouldn't be surprised doesn't mean I expect it to happen. Still thinking it's 85% he stays it probably lower than most would put it.

I don't think Grant signed here to be the #1 option, more that he wanted to start and play a bigger role than he would get in Denver. I think he'd be fine as the #2 or 3 option. Without as much defensive attention he's likely to have a very good offensive season.
