Could a team trade for Dario Saric and still get an extra roster spot since he's out for the year?

No cause injured or otherwise he's still on the roster.

I’d give Sacramento a call and see if they would be interested in a Sekou + Okafor/Jackson (whoever isn’t part of our future) for Bagley. They don’t seem like they want him, so could be beneficial for both sides.

This could be kinda interesting but the Knicks don't have an open roster spot, sadly.

Pretty tough really when there isn't value going out on our end.

Sekou/Jackson to Bulls for Brown Jr/Arcidicano (cut Arcidicano)

Knicks for Kevin Knox? Sekou/Jackson
Mo Bamba for Sekou/Jackson. Magic decline I'd think.

Thomas Bryant with Wiz having Harrell/Gafford.
Probably not for them. They have a ton of wings now.

Derrick Jones Jr? Didn't play well for Blazers. Take a flier on him while opening a roster spot.
Thomas Bryant wouldn't be a bad option, still relatively young, can hit the three and defend the paint. He's a quality backup/sub six man big. I think him and Stewart off the bench with Hayes, Frank Jackson and Hamido could be great defensively.

Considering the Wizards have Rui, Deni, Kispert, Bertains & Kuzma at the 3 or 4 I can't see them being interested in Sekou, JJ or Okafor.

I didn't realise how deep the Wizards were until checking that trade idea

A team _can_ get a hardship exception allowing an extra person to the roster if a lot of players are injured. But, not just one.

It makes no sense to trade Sekou and keep Okafur unless we get something intriguing back, because he could still get better with experience, and he could be a small ball center. Garza is gonna be better than Okafur anyways. This is a bad move, let him play in the d league, he needs more reps for a better evaluation.

I'm in the give Sekou one more year boat. I guess I wont be too upset though if Weaver decides to move on..I trust his ability to evaluate talent.

His value around the league is probably future 2nd rounder territory. I think Sekou at 20 years old has more upside than most 2nd round picks.

Agreed, his trade value is low. He's not bringing back a known first rounder in a trade.

I think the Pistons know more about him then most having him for 2 years in the organization, my guess is he doesn't have the attitude they'd like to think he is going to progress.

This guess only gets support if he actually gets let go. Otherwise we have a questionable source and forum posters speaking in hypotheticals about what management thinks after assuming the story is accurate.

I'm not one of those people. The logic in letting Sekou go vs Okafor doesn't add up.

Drop Okafor or drop Sekou?

I mean, why not both?

I (we) knew Sekou was a project, boom or bust type pick from day 1.

While its far from ideal, this is what it came to, I'm fine with it.

I was consistently on record at the time, requesting a boom or bust type. In the team outlook situation Detroit was at the time, and picking #15 in that draft, a "safe" low upside pick wasn't going to really do anything for the team.
