Top 5 Pistons in Trade Value (in order)

Future picks excluded, simply individual players (includes players drafted in 2021)

In order of value, which five Pistons have the most? This is based on what we could get, not how much we might value them.

Cade is an easy #1, but I think it gets interesting after that.

1. Cade Cunningham
2. Jerami Grant
3. Saddiq Bey
4. Killian Hayes
5. Isaiah Stewart

Only other person of value, is possibly Olynik to the right team. I don't think anybody else on the roster really gets anything positive.

List is fine, but in no universe is Stewart (right now)worth more then Bey.

Hell, I could be talked into placing Bey above Grant with how well he shoots the damn ball.

Stewart looks like a legitimate starter in this league. Hayes was awful as a rookie. No one is giving up a first rounder for Hayes right now. Unless Hayes shows something in camp and Preseason I fully expect Weaver to decline Hayes 3rd year option before the end of October.

Hayes- I guess

I guess mine is an unpopular take, but I have both Bey and Stew as above Grant in terms of trade value. The 5th spot is tough, I don't think anyone else has a considerable amount of value. I put Hayes even though I think he needs to show more to have genuine value. Kelly is a new free agent who we didn't get a "steal" on in terms of value, so to me he doesn't have substantial value until he overperforms like Grant did.

I feel like Bey has more value than Stewart but those two vs Grant just depends on the team you are trading with value wise. If it’s a contending team than Grant has more value, and if we are trading for a disgruntled superstar than the sophomores take priority. I think we are farther away from trading for a superstar than a maintaining the team or slightly upgrading. So:
Cade
Grant
Bey (shooting trumps bigs)
Stewart
Hayes-still a high first round pick with defense and vision. May get us another slow start lottery pick for the scenery change trade.

Trade value is about what you'd get for the player, i.e. worth to other teams.
1. Cade - a consensus #1 pick playing a position with a skill set that pretty much any team would want
2. Grant - legit 20 PPG scorer
3. Bey - solid 3P shooting and getting better at creating his own shot
4. Stew - all hustle all the time
5. Take your pick

It might be unpopular, but that doesn't mean its incorrect.

Grant is pretty over-rated. After the first 20 games or so, his efficiency cratered hard. If I recall correctly his FG% is like 4th worst of the top 50 scorers. He had a truly torrid start to those first 20 games, but his final overall efficiency dropping that far tells the story of just how hard he fell back to earth last 3 months of the season. He also doesn't provide much else than points, he's not much of a ball handler, isn't really a creator, and is a bad rebounder for a PF . He's currently a poster child for dudes piling up hollow points on a bad team.

So I'll second your "unpopular" take and fall in line with your list.
