The Pacers pulled a qualifying offer, but he was only going to be a two way player there. He’s basically trying out for a two way contract and/or locking up a g league gig with an nba team focused on a youth movement. Not a bad chance to take by either side

More just speculation and putting the facts together. They offered him the qualifying to see if there was any interest. I think they declined it to see if they could get him back on a two way, he looked for a better opportunity
