I'm not mocking fans for being anxious. I'm mocking fans for saying a lack of communication means the team is hiding something more serious and should be criticized for being so dishonest; literally every single post I've made argues that it's NOT something serious. Oh the horror, you don't get the answer you want when you want it. It is what it is. Do you want Cade to play only when he's 100%, considering it's the beginning of a season that's expected to be another rebuilding year, rather than Game 7 of the NBA playoffs? THAT'S the thing to be concerned about, not WHEN you're told. And all the consternation in the world that any fan has doesn't change the outcome so yeah, I poke fun at people getting all worked up when they know damn good and well that they're not changing anything. Pissed because you already bought tickets thinking Cade would play then find out he isn't? No issue with that at all. But turning that into "This organization is dishonest, they're covering up something more serious, I'm never watching another game, blah blah blah" is comical to me. Like I said, just be honest and say "I'm pissed because I'm not getting what I want" and I'll respect that. I don't have any respect for turning it into "This organization is dishonest/evil" so you can justify being pissed off when you didn't have tickets to the game or even plan on attending. I'm not bothered by any of it; I'm having fun with it. Especially inventing new dark and sinister reasons for why Cade isn't playing. Tripped into a portal leading to the spirit world and has to retrieve the eyes of Dahlver-Nar to pay for passage back? Come on--that was pretty good.
I don't know if the team is hiding anything but when you hear "day to day", "getting closer" for 3 weeks and the timeline keeps getting pushed back, I'm sure you can understand why fans would be frustrated. They could have just said "Cade has an ankle sprain, it'll be re-evaluated in 2 weeks" or something like that but we've been in the dark for the most part. It makes you wonder why they waited until right before Opening Night to give some clarity.
By all means, they should be cautious with this and handle with care only playing him when he's fully healed but after being out for 3 weeks plus and still being limited in practice, it makes one wonder if the injury is more serious than they're leading on and as a result it leads to a frustrated fanbase which is an understandable reaction, no?
It doesn't mean that the organization is evil or it's some conspiracy or something but I think paying customers have a right to be pissed when they find out right up until Game Day (the night before) that he won't be playing on opening night. A whole bunch of people are rushing to look for refunds I'm sure.
With that said, I hope he plays soon because sprains can linger for a while so it's possible that he could be out for several more games and then some. 3 weeks and counting in this situation.
Outside of the scenario of buying tickets hoping to see Cade play, no, I DON'T understand being upset about any lack of communication/vague statements/whatever. It's a wasted emotion because it doesn't change the outcome.
I've seen twisted, I've seen sprained and I've seen rolled relative to the ankle. All I can comment on is having had a rolled ankle and like I said, it was 6-8 weeks before it was back to normal with no pain. Twisted ankle or high ankle sprain? I'm not doctor, neither is anyone else on this board, and speculating on what's really wrong is absolutely silly.
