I know some people are cautious with centers like him because he doesn't stretch out the defense but it's not like he doesn't have any range, he can step out and hit a 15 footer plus he's a beast on the boards and defensively.
He's basically what you hope Banchero is if he reaches his full potential, the player who is probably the best fit for the Pistons in the upcoming draft. You have a core of Cade, Bey, Stewart and Ayton and you have quite a foundation to build off of. Probably couldn't keep all of them long term but you worry about it when you get there. Cade and Ayton on that pick and roll would be deadly.
Agreed with the Banchero part (though I think Paolo is more of a ball-handler), but it’s the use of cap that concerns me. If you draft PB and he becomes a home grown star, sure, you pay him, but you’ve gotten value years first and you know the fit. Ayton would be a shortcut, in both the good and bad ways, and my opinion is that’s a bad idea.
