One thing is clear about this, and that is Casey's comments seem to be out of alignment with what the doctors and Weaver had in mind. As soon as Casey mentioned that Cade was on track to play in the season opener, after it was leaked that Cade's management team was heading with Detroit to discuss a timeline... things seemed a bit off because if Casey's comments were really true I think there is no need to fly in for a meeting. If anything Casey has been the one out there giving false information making it seem like no big deal. But even what he said at times contradicts itself.

That said, I'm fairly certain that Cade plays by Oct 30th. I'd actually be pretty shocked if he isn't playing by the Orlando game in a few days.

Is the injury worse than initially though? Are they just keeping him out longer as a precaution? Or maybe it's a little bit of both and didn't want to lose them ticket sales?

They are being pretty quiet about it, I doubt we will know the true extent of the injury for quite some time.

If it's not October 30th and the Pistons don't come clean, I'm joining the conspiracy theories. I mean, who knows at that point if it will be months...

Got a little ahead of myself there.

Guys sometimes come back from rolled ankles sooner than this, but at less than 100%. There's no need/reason to put Cade out there before it's 100%.

Heck, at this rate even the ROY race is over with. Mobley's been unreal.

It's gonna be a tight race between Mobley, Green, Barnes, Cade and Giddey might be a surprise.

Lol, no.
Also, I watched some of Green last night and even though it was pretty much garbage time against the Celtics, you can see the ridiculously high potential in his game with his explosiveness and shot making so others will something to say about who wins RotY.

With that said, Rookie of the Year means very little in the long run. Case just needs to get the ankle fully healed first, no need to rush this as badly as we all want to see him play.

Kind of makes you wonder how much of a beast Stew is after him rolling it hard enough for a boot during the Olympics summer workouts. Now he's back and looking like he does

Let's review.

Stew rolled his ankle on July 8. He himself said he was OUT FIVE WEEKS before the ankle started progressing and was affected for a total of 8 weeks.

It was first reported on October 1 that Cade had rolled his ankle, was experiencing some swelling but was expected to be back for the home opener.

Do the math.

Lighten up, Francis

I'm not discrediting Cade's time frame nor downplaying the injury itself. I was actually lightheartedly amused and amazed at how he healed up after such an injury and looking as strong as ever. It's potentially good news for Cades recovery and time frame as well

It's good to be young, that's for sure

Lighten up about what? I'm like a helium-filled feather on this, as in one of the few people who just rolls with it. It is what it is and when Cade plays is when he plays.

I need Cade action to make this season watchable. Heal up Cade!
