Was his 1st NBA game.
No need to jump off a bridge. We goooood

I’m not suggesting anyone needs to panic or that this game is indicative of the player he’ll be.

Just calling for people to call it what it was- a bad game. No need for excuses or “he played hard” type posts. He’s gotta do better. Given what we know of his character, I'm sure he'd be the first to say so.

I went to a Halloween party last night, watched the replay after I got home then went to bed, so only a few quick comments for me.

The offense clearly functions better with Cade in it.
Kelly Olynyk is a more important part of this team's success than most people expected, so all the talk about him being slow, can't defend, blah blah blah was clearly without basis.
At this point the JJ vs Diallo debate is over. When JJ stays within himself and lets the game come to him he's pretty good offensively and he's definitely better than Diallo defensively.

But he didn't play a bad game. He shot poorly. That isn't all there is to the game.

What did he do well? I didn’t see any great playmaking, on defense he wasn’t all that special either. Grabbed some rebounds I guess.

I thought he played very good defense on Suggs. He didn't pass well because they had him stand in the corner mostly on offense and ignored him on a number of occasions, as I pointed out in the thread. He rebounded exceptionally well. His help defense was very good. His energy and hustle was contagious to others on the floor. Some of his shots were good looks but he got no life on his legs. A couple buckets he forced. Overall, he played well.
