As a lifelong basketball fan I resent your scurrilous slur.

I've long since despaired of some fellows on this site learning to 'play nice.' It will be good to see what our shrunken hero looks like.

I was looking at our roster on NBA.cim and I was shocked to see they list Cade as 6'6. I thought it was just some joke guys were making. I read over and over from scouts and everyone that the guy was 6'8. What gives? Why in the world would so many list him at 6'8 if he is 2 inches shorter? This isn't something that a player can lie about it seems, I mean, players are measured. Why did this happen?

colleges can list a player whatever height they like really, he's not the first player who had an exaggerated height in college.
6'6 seems about right by the eye test, but still it doesn't really change that much for me, its not like he actually shrunk, he's the same height now as he was when he was successful in college

Well, I am numbed about it because I want him to be the frickin size I was told he was for months on end. I could see getting it wrong for 2nd rounders but for the consensus number 1 pick to be 2 inches shorter than reported on for months of fans drooling over the hope of getting him, it just seems incredible that this could happen.

I agree, still the same player, but damn, 2 inches could mean fewer blocks and his own shot getting blocked more not to mention just a tad less intimidating for the guy he's defending.

Damn, now I wish we would have taken Scotty Barns. I thought we got ourselves a 6'8 SG that would use his great length in multiple ways. Now we have another average 6'6 guy at SG.

We are talking NUMBER ONE PICK HERE FOR GOD SAKES, TWO INCHES SHORTER?

Manocad, I gladly say, I WANT to be childish here. I want the 6'8 frickin guard I was told we were getting for months damnit.

Jeez, I am childishly po'ed at this.

He is NOT 6'6 in shoes, period. He's a touch over 6'7.

Oh my God not this again, I'm bailing on this topic. Not getting sucked in.

It's not something you can really say with certainty, especially with his hair. Much like Ben Wallace being 6'6" or 6'9" with the fro. I would say if the Pistons are listing him at 6'6" he's likely between 6'6" and 6'6.5"... if he was 6'7" why wouldn't they list him at 6'7"? I can see fudging height upwards but makes zero sense to fudge height down.

kind of an underrated storyline in the pistons season so far is isaiah livers looking like he's coming back soon. he is limited as a player but can shoot the ball really well and should be fairly nba-ready - he played four years in college and is the same age as frank jackson. not saying he'll be a heavy rotation player but he could be a nice alternative to giving frank jackson minutes, it would at least give us a little more size on the perimeter since we lack athleticism (other than diallo and JJ).

the team felt highly enough about him to give him two guaranteed years (third year team option) as a second round pick, so he'll definitely get a chance to earn minutes.

I'm with you on this. I have mentioned Livers a couple times here recently just reminding folks not to forget about this kid. He has been a good player in college, good shooter, hard worker and I think we got another steal with that kid. I believe he will be a fine scorer once he gets his feet under him.

It's how I spend every second on this board.

Longtime lurker, but pop back up when I see fun posts like Manocad's and zeeb's. Makes me nostaglic for the old days when this forum was rocking with educated Pistons fans.

you can take "ramping up" however you want but i know personally until i hear reports that he's practicing in full with the actual team i'm going to assume he's out for the next while.

Well this aged poorly.

Head height is useless if that player has short arms, judging from an eye test he has average wingspan for his height and colleges exagerrate measurements now at this guy has a 7 foot wingspan even if he does he looks to have small hands and a low standing reach.

It's strange that Pistons reached out to Austin Reaves on draft night and were going to draft him around the Livers pick if he agreed to sign a 2-way contract but he declined. Then the Pistons end up signing Livers and Garza to full contracts anyways. And Reaves is playing well with LAL. Is the 2-way question just a test to see if the player really wants to be in Detroit or something?

Would Detroit have taken Reaves over Livers?

Regardless I think Livers is with MCC until after the TDL at least. Pistons have too many bodies not getting PT already.
