Cade always knew that at some point he would HAVE to get on the NBA courts and prove why he was taken number one. He knew that fake height numbers might drive up fan and media pressure to draft him, but also that those fake numbers would only get him to draft night. He knew that at some point, the rubber had to meet the road and he would have to get on the NBA courts and just lay it all on the line. He knew that if he were to be considered a draft semi-bust, that these fake length numbers would of course be used in building his noose by angry fans.
Folks, that is BALLS. He knows he has to be a star and he has immense pressure on him to be one. And guys like Mobley and Barns are already putting the pressure on for him to live up to. So viewing it from that angle, you gotta love this kids confidence in himself. He wanted to be the number 1 pick and did everything he could to get there knowing the whole time that his agent, his brand, the fake height stuff, the media would only carry him to a certain point, THEN he would have to live up to it all.
That right there makes you realize just how much this kid has to believe in himself. Yeah, this kid has some BALLS!!!
So you've admitted that:
- It's known that players exaggerate their height
- The Pistons met with Cade before drafting him and thus knew his true height
Therefore by the definition of hoax--malicious deception--there was none. The idea that Weaver was somehow pressured into drafting Cade after learning that his height wasn't what he expected is laughable.
My argument has been consistent--you're being irrational. You believe you're entertaining but being that the old saying is "Brevity is the soul of wit," by definition you have none in your posts. However I find it entertaining as do others since I'm not the only one laughing at you. So by all means, keep beating your head against that wall. We'll be happy to watch.
Just don't start any new threads. You don't want to get spanked again.
"- It's known that players exaggerate their height "
Some do. Uh, why do you think that is? Since Cade knew the Pistons would know his true height, what was the purpose then? You forgot to let me know.
"Therefore by the definition of hoax--malicious deception--there was none."
Which is why I asked you why Cade would even bother doing it. I'm sure you'll let us know.
"The idea that Weaver was somehow pressured into drafting Cade after learning that his height wasn't what he expected is laughable."
I see, So Weaver is not human and would have had no problem with 90 percent of Pistons fans turning on him, is that right?
"My argument has been consistent"
Consistently laughable is what it has been. Let's review.
You first claimed that people somehow were claiming that Cade actually was 6'8 and then shrunk to 6'6, lol. I saw no one say any such thing.
Then, you hinted that anyone saying that length is an advantage is somehow saying that a player 2 inches shorter can never be good, lol.
Then, you said that all that matters is what Cade did against other college players, as if he would still be playing in college. I had to teach you that of course, your idea was laughable and that drafting teams take measurements as well as college performance and attempt to project a players potential and decide whether to use their draft slot on him. You apparently thought they didn't consider length as a future advantage
Then, you tried to accuse me of saying that the only thing that was used in drafting was measurements when I had said no such thing, and in reality it was YOU who said 100 percent that all that mattered was what he had done against other college players as if no one should consider length, reach, speed, acceleration measurables to project what advantages he might have in a bigger, faster, better league.
And finally, on the Weaver thing and pressure to draft. So you left out WHY Cade and his team would have dealt the fake height info since the Pistons would have found out his height first thing when he came in. Please answer that (you won't).
Hmm, let's see if we can lead the horse to water again. Tell me, is it possible that Gore's had a huge say in who we drafted?. I recall at their press conference that Gore's said he invited Cad we and his family out to his house. He said after meeting Cade that he thought he was the guy. Now, get ready, do you think it could have HURT TICKET SALES at what has been an almost empty LCA for a couple years even before the virus? HMMMMM?
Wow, looks like we can make a clear connection that is reasonable between fans being excited about Cade IN PART because of what they thought was 6'8 length and how that could be an advantage and a pressure to draft Cade because it's not good for ticket sales when you piss off 90 percent of the fan base. I wonder what ticket sale differences would be for the entire year had we drafted Barbs or Mobley over Cade? How about you tell me what you think?
So it sounds like Cade had a darn good reason to want to deal out a fake height for himself, to make himself a consensus number 1 and that could definitely have an impact on a franchise that has been having trouble putting butts in the seats. See, I figured there had to be some reason Cades folks wanted to push the height thing.
And of course, I was watching some clips today of draft people saying he should go number 1 and MENTIONED that 6'8 LUKA type length. I'll be glad to give you some links to entry of vids where his 6'8 height was mentioned as part of the reasons he should be drafted number 1. But of course, you can go to YouTube and watch some of them.
Yeah, this is too easy. But let's just look at what a some and obvious statement you have been laughably fighting against.
No fan in their right mind would not wish that what they had been told about Cades height before the draft were actually true.
Think about how obvious and true that statement is, and look at the lengths you have gone to in order to try and deny such an obvious truth.
People don't like getting fake info, using that info to project what advantages that info could have in the future.
These simple, obvious statements are true beyond a shadow of a doubt. It is TOTALLY NORMAL for fans not think that it SUCKED that they had been given fake height info.
In the end, this is the some and obvious truth you have been trying to argue against and running from corner to corner and pulling out the most ridiculous arguments--Barklety was great so he couldn't have put 2 extra inches to his advantage--Cade didn't shrink from 6'8 to 6'6--all that matters is what he did against other college Ayers....and on and on, trying to deny such an obvious and truthful statement that fans had REASON to be disappointed that what they were told about his height wasn't true. Wow, just wow, it's amazing that someone could scatter like you have trying anything to avoid admitting you were flat out wrong.
Tomorrow is game day, so I'll let you off the leash, we all know and can read your silly arguments on this.
In the end, YOU TOO wish that what we were told about his height was true. You know as well as everyone else that 2 extra inches would be an extra advantage for Cade as it would be for any player. Right, right?
I wanted Cade based on watching him play. Still do. You’ll just have to go on with your one man rant while the rest of us laugh.
