Does anybody here think Anfernee Simons could be an all-star someday? He's a bit undersized but is super athletic and has a nice offensive game. I wonder if he is one of those guys ready for a bigger role on a team without 2 "star" guards . Maybe Weaver should look to swing a trade...

He has a nice shot but isn't much of a playmaker. He's like a tiny SG probably more of a 6th man that a star, but maybe he has more in his bag he's not showing.Moses ShamMoses wrote:Does anybody here think Anfernee Simons could be an all-star someday? It makes me wonder what his trade value would be. He will be a restricted free agent after this season so I think that decreases his value a little bit. I'm just thinking he looks like a guy who COULD put it together and we get a quality starter alongside Cade for the next 5 years. Adds another lotto ticket into the mix.

Been watching him get no burn for a couple years, could have been a nice target this offseason, but I think he's showing out too much now and someone will give him a Diallo type deal on his potential.

Thanks and sheesh that's discouraging even though it's only 1 game. I guess we won't be seeing him up with the Pistons anytime soon then.
This clearly can't be attributed to rust and must be a sign that he is way behind in his development in terms of shooting. We should banish him from the squad now since we've definitely seen enough.
Oh yeah. Cade Cunningham is only 6'2".
P.S. We have an overabundance of quality shooting right now; so the idea of giving Livers any run with the Pistons would seriously impact our otherwise fantastic chance of consistently winning basketball games.

I posted a few weeks ago that he could be a good target this offseason. He will be a RFA but Portland is in a really bad financial situation, but maybe we could steal him. I think he would fit well next to Cade.

Uh... Ok. Kind of a needless rant but maybe you're having a bad day?
Anyway, "overabundance of quality shooting"? The Pistons are the worst shooting team in the league and one of the worst offenses. Livers is billed as a quality long range shootier so, yeah, I don't think it's so crazy to speculate that a prospect known for his shooting could help the worst shooting team in the league.

The entire post was sarcasm. The Cade Cunningham comment should have been a big hint as was the "overabundance of quality shooting" and "otherwise fantastic chance of consistently winning basketball games" comments. We are 4-17...
It was a reaction to the continuing trend of posters ready to make decisions on players based on little to no data. And yes, your comment about Livers not playing for the Pistons anytime soon based on a single bad shooting game falls squarely into that bucket.
I'm not having a bad day at all. But maybe your sarcasm detector is a bit off?

looks like he'd fit right in with the main roster.

Oh damn, my apologies. You just never know on this board because some posters tend to go in attack mode and post weird "hot takes" so hard to differentiate serious from sarcasm sometimes.

It was definitely a very dry take by me. No apologies needed.
