2007 OKC drafted Kevin Durant with the second overall pick
2008 OKC drafted Russell Westbrook with the fourth overall pick
2009 OKC drafted James Harden with the third overall pick
This is what drafting Cade -> Jabari Smith/Paolo -> Emoni Bates will look like

And it should be noted that they won 20, 23, then 50 games the following seasons. And some people here are blowing gaskets that the Pistons aren't on track for 30+ wins after getting Cade.

The dream scenario is to draft Jabari Smith and max Bradley Beal. We become immediate contestants for the Playoffs because then we’ll have Killian Bey and Stewart coming off the bench after signing another solid big man like Olynyk.

Too much success history with the team. Team has proven it can sell tickets when good, it’s not the fanbase. It’s the talent. We’ll get there soon.

Re: Game 25: Pistons (4-20) @ Pelicans (7-20) - Dec. 10 8:00 PM EST
At the end of last season, I saw Bey succeeding and Stewart adding a three point shot. I expected both to take another step this season, while I only hoped that Hayes and Lee would round out their games. Like many of us, I was a little too optimistic, at least so far.
I'm still expecting better play as the season goes on. Olynyk returning from the knee sprain will make a difference. Livers getting into playing shape and contributing - a "glue guy" potentially. Even Smith might show he can contribute.
It's looking like an ugly grind for now, but if we end up with most of the youngsters developing in the second half I'll be satisfied. Still hoping for a 2023 breakout in the playoffs, I can put up with watching the sausage being made unless I get nauseous.

Imagine if, instead of trading for the 2020 #16 pick, we traded for 2021 #16 pick, how much brighter our future would be. One is a 15-20 mpg energy guy off the bench, the other...

I was wishing Weaver made a move for Sengun on draft night, but to be fair here, the Stewart pick cost one future protected 1st while the Sengun pick cost Houston two 1st round picks.

We had to eat Ariza 12,5 mil contract, so it costed more than 1 first. 1s 12,5 mil in raw cap space worth a late 1st? I'd say the cost for both was close.
