Or maybe we have no talent on the team and Kerr wouldn’t win coaching this team either. I am 100% no coach can win with this roster. It’s designed to tank. No centers.
No coach would make us a winning team. A good coach would have us running something that looked like an NBA offense - even if we sucked at it. And playing something like an NBA defense instead of switching everything all game long. Casey's plan on every bit of 2 man action up top is to automatically switch. That's his game plan. To switch guys like luka onto a pg every single time down the court. There are only a couple centers in the league that might get away with that consistently, and even with them, you don't actually WANT them chasing guards.
Not only that, then your young players never develop their skills of fighting through screens, showing hard while recovering, playing the spacing game, adjusting how you play based on the player...it's all very middle school defense and even with the switch on everything philosophy, Charlotte still had no trouble passing the ball a few times for open looks.
I don't think there's anything unique about Casey's offense, but I also see it on a lot of teams. Pick n roll at the top. Bey at the high post. Two guard at the corner three. Motion offense with screening at the top of the key.
Pistons just aren't that good in the details. While any coach would look bad on the Pistons, Casey likewise would look much better in Golden State.
