Honestly, given they didn't extend him, it's hard to say. If we could afford to max him (and he's worth it, IMO) they might blink. Worth a shot at least, IMO.

Prolly not the problem I believe was over the 5th year they didn't offer. I pretty sure they can still offer more at 4 years than anyone else, he'd be playing right into their hand.

They didn’t want to pay their 5 year “max”. They will match the 4 year “max” that other teams can offer saving them over 50 mil. It’s pretty much a given.
