Another posted mock draft for anyone interested:

https://ca.nba.com/news/2020-nba-mock-draft-scouting-report-anthony-edwards-deni-avdija-lamelo-ball/qzgpi83ijpta1e74c5ryf3tsl

Starting to see Avdija showing up as a top 3 guy (with Wiseman sliding) in more of these. It wouldn’t surprise me much if that’s how things really play out.

Think that's based on the Warriors claiming Deni blew them away in his workout...

In other words they want someone to trade up to #2 to take Wiseman/Edwards/Ball while they move down and get a additional asset.

The wild card of the draft, would take him if he fell to 7. (Courtesy of getrichordie from the draft forum)

I don't want Wiseman... but the reason is stupid. From the neck up, he looks like Stanley Johnson's brother. Bad memories.

Yeah, if he falls, you have to take him. There are tons of questions about how his game will translate, but he would be PBA by a wide margin at #7.

An argument can be made for pretty much any of the top projected 2020 prospects as being “Boom or Bust”. I’d probably be less concerned about Hayes being a bust, but I’m not sure whether he has star level upside either. Really depends on whether he can overcome his over reliance on his left and his continued development as a shooter.

Good Podcast on the draft lots of talks about teams and players that might be dumped due to financial ramifications with a draft pick and prospect talk.

They start talking about Detroit at 33:08.

First statement Detroit "has the worst roster in the league... they are in the worst situation."

It’s been reported on a variety of outlets that the Pistons have had an in person workout with Kira Lewis Jr. The guy is obviously known for his speed, but he saw a nice jump in production across the board from his freshman to sophomore seasons. He’s already a credible shooter, going 36% from 3 this past season. He reclassified up after his junior year of high school, so he played as a 17 year old college freshman. So while he’s got 2 years of college starting experience, he’s still on the younger side as a prospect. Curious what people’s thoughts are on him? And a totally hypothetical question - if Lewis was essentially the same prospect physically as he is now but wearing a Kentucky uniform instead of an Alabama one, would he be getting more buzz?

I’ve been high on Killian Hayes for a while and I’ve seen nothing to really make me feel any different. Personally I don’t really like this draft class and I don’t see stardom for Hayes but given our draft positions and the rest of the players predicted to be available when we draft I see him as the best option. Haliburton is one year older and while I think he’s the better passer I’d prefer Hayes in almost every other respect. Hayes has the better potential but Haliburton probably a higher floor. Would be happy if we knew him!

The chatter about Lewis and Hampton would lead you to believe that Detroit is either looking at a trade back, or looking to acquire an additional mid to late 1st.

That or they would appear to be making a reach for either of those 2 guys @ 7. Or maybe its all just a smokscreen.

I think they’re doing their diligence either way. I know it’s been said many times, but this is a weird draft. It’s probably unlikely that any elite players come out of it, but it could turn out to be a draft that produces quite a few solid to really good players who are part of NBA rotations. It’s funny I know, but this is a year where I’m actually kind of glad that the Pistons didn’t “win” the lottery. I think they’re in a nice spot at 7 (or even in a little trade down) to get a player that will help them.

No matter the sport, draft season is lying season. Either way, interesting reports on Lamelo and Wiseman. Obviously, take with a (big) grain of salt:
