Now I don't really want any part of that.. I don't think we would be good enough to turn it around/make the playoffs and I dont think we would continue to lose so many games. It's a recipe for getting the 8th pick yet again . Besides, moving Smith should be for developmental purposes now and next year at least, Johnson would just take all the shots Smith is now+more.

Exactly, no point in trying to half-assed salvage a horrible season. Just deal with the losing as best as you can, take the great draft pick, and hope smennings is gone by the start of next year

Jennings/singler to the rockets for their trade exception, Jason terry (waived immediately,) whatever minimum contract they want to trade, and NY's 2nd rounder

Houston needs some insurance at the PG spot if they can't keep Beverley, though he and Jennings could conceivably play together for stretches as well. Jennings would also function well spotting up off the ball while harden runs the show with Howard. Singler would fit right in as a floor-spacing backup 3

Morey is a huge analytics guy, no way he wants any part of Jennings. :( I really don't see that. They could use the TE on someone else, it is big enough.
Aren't TE generally used to acquire expirings anyway?

Any trade that includes Smith and Jennings for expiring contracts is a great trade. I'd like to trade Monroe to the Spurs for Kyle Anderson, 2015 1st round pick and filler. I'd love to see what Pop would do with Monroe.

If we throw in Monroe they may really consider because then they instantly get a frontcourt seeing as Lopezs health is unreliable and they still want playoffs since they cant rebuild anyways. I want Teletovic as well though in the deal, Hes a great fit next to Dre and we get a go to scorer in Johnson.

Jennings/Augustine
KCP/Meeks
Johnson/Singler
Teletovic/Jerebko
Drummond/Anthony

Problem is that roster would be much improved and mess with our draft pick.

Monroe ain't gonna waive his NTC to go to Brooklyn.

Jeff Ayers, Austin Daye, and Kyle Anderson make up enough money to be traded for Greg Monroe.

Spurs have Duncan, Gino, Green, Leonard, Belo, Baynes, Joseph, and Bonner expiring. About 30M.
Hypothetically, couldn't they trade for Monroe, extend qualifing offers to Leonard and Green, but then sign Monroe, before going over the cap resigning Duncan and Gino? (If they don't retire) and their RFAs

I think so, but they'd get Monroe this year to help them win another 'ship. The Spurs don't really lose anything by doing this trade and the Pistons at least get something for Monroe.

Would have cap holds eating up space and would have to be renounced to get that cap room.

Oh yeah didn't we have a 9 or 10M hold on Monroe and after he accepted QO we got more cap? Duh.. WOOPS.

Two Part Trade:

1. Jennings for Rockets Trade Exception

2. Monroe, Singler for Papanikolaou

Pistons dump Jennings and continue their quest for a top 3 pick

Rockets get a quality C for a bench SF, Singler replaces Papnikolaou's production, and Jennings can still be traded again this year if we make the deal by December 19th.

Maybe the Rockets can get a productive player for 8M but whoever they get wont match the contribution that Jennings, Singler, AND Monroe will offer. I think Rockets at least think about the deal

Am i the only one who thinks Detroit should be going after Rondo and if they can, Green to go along with him?

yes you'd be the only one

1.) Ainge is going to ask for everyone and the kitchen sink
2.) Detroit lacks floor spacer, Rondo does not eleviate that problem
3.) Rondo isn't Carrying Boston to any playoff runs, why would he do so in detroit
4.) Rondo coming to detroit means Josh smith reunites with his best friend, meaning Smith stays in Detroit. Detroit fan base does not want josh smith.

So no, Rondo to detroit is not wanted. Green for Smith however. F* YA

^^^^I would do JR for Josh but we don't need sg. No to GM for THJ. That doesn't even make sense at all.

I noticed a Heat fan on the GB wanting to ship Deng out for a C. Monroe + Datome for Deng works. It evens out our roster. Problems: I don't know Deng's game much, but I'm not sure he can spread the floor like we want. Still, he's a vast talent upgrade at SF from Singler et al. Also, I think Monroe would veto a trade unless it gave him a real opportunity to contend.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I think the vast majority miss diagnose what we need as a franchise.

When I returned to Real GM and pimped my Millsap/Korver or Calderon off-season it wasn't about becoming a contender - it was about changing a culture!

That culture still exists. Smith and Jennings didn't bring it with them - it was here long before they got here.

To rid ourselves of that will take years...and it starts with bringing in real professional players. Yeah yeah ywah they're all professional - but I'm talking about guys that are driven, come early and stay late, players that execute the system...

The #1 pick won't solve our problems. Trading Smith won't either. It's going to take a few signings in the off-season to change that culture...and changing the culture doesn't mean we'll have a good team!

Cause I'm drunk:

A team consisting of:

Lawson (or Teague or Holiday)
Matthews (or Afflalo or Redick)
Corey Brewer (or Shumpert)
David West (or Terrence Jones)
& Drummond

**** all over what we've got!

It's up to SVG & Bower to bring in not only players that fit but dudes who will bring it every day/night

I made a thread about the value of signing Teague the summer we traded for Jennings. The notion was blown out of the water. He's averaging 17 PPG, 7 assists with a 21.72 PER.

Oh well.

I never thought Teague was going to put up that kind of production. He was still a better PG than we had period. I remember when a friend of mine and I discussed getting Jennings a year or two before we got them and I just laughed and laughed at his sub-40% career shooting.
