What honestly is the sixers plan, "keep sucking until they happen upon the next great NBA player in the draft.....even though they don't seem to actually have a plan, plan".

We signed Rip to a extension right after we signed BG who plays same position
We thought Allen iverson could play team ball
We thought CV cared about basketball
We consistently thought Stuckey was more than he is
We thought Josh Smith was a SF that secretly could shoot 3's

We were worse, we were stuck in mediocrity with bad contracts , no coach and no direction. If our record tells any stories. I am actually suprised we never went this direction.

Sixers plan is actually ingenious. We aren't going to sign lebron ever, so why not draft the next one. The problem was they thought they knew how to discern between Elite superstar and average player. They also underestimated the backlash by the league and players. So not only couldn't they figure out who would become "Lebron" in draft selections, but now FA's most certainly are staying away. You add the immaturity in the lockeroom due to lack of veterans and sense of "i may get traded" , its a forumla for a f* up franchise. Ironically this actually fuels the plan in the direction its going ie tanking , however when you have mulitiple years of poor seasons, immature players, draft picks that don't fullfil their potential, fans aren't going to back you. There whole "trust the process" mantra is essentially them throwing there hands up and saying f* it.

Exactly. I get what they tried to do, but there were guys available at the same pay rate that they passed on. They needed to have some foundation players. Even expansion teams hang onto a couple vets, just to set things up. Sixers were essentially an expansion team (now for a couple years) and they have no idea what they are doing.

My point is there plan wasn't necessarily a poor one and had logic. The problem was execution.

Deandre Jordan destroyed Greg Monroe last night. He's coming for everyone who was on the court during the BK murder :P. Watch out CV, Singler and Calderon.

That's just because of Doc's Generosity as a parent for Jamal and Austin.

Jamal might as well be his son, he's been way too leniant on his chuckery, 37% from the field on 11 shots a game

Somehow he gets 26 minutes on that team...

To be fair, it looked like Monroe was set outside before contact, should have been a charge on DJ if anything.

NBA officiating, it's fantastic! I guess he wasn't perfectly squared up. Fortunately, Greg was able to get back up after being "destroyed." :noway: (This is like something you'd read over on the General Board.)

Remember, it's the NBA. Everyone falls down immediately if there's any contact at all.

That prick Monroe deserves it. Karma biting him in the ass for not helping Knight up after Jordan dunked on him and staring down at him with a freaked out look on his face. Real nice teammate that Monroe pfft

MKG can't shoot and is broken ; Batum is a 1 year rental.

Waste a 8th pick for a injuried player or a rental looks awful.

Could have extended Batum for dirt cheap after last year, MKG is hurt but I would take him over Stanley moving forward.

If I don't come back the way I was last year, I'm going to be very upset with myself. I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself first right now. I'm not thinking about re-signing here, not re-signing here. I'm just thinking about getting back on the court and taking care of business."

I'm not sure about that. You're being a little rough on SJ for how short the season we're in.

I just don't see SJ as an NBA starter, I never wanted to draft him to begin with. MKG is one of the best defenders in the league already, he's got a minimum 10-12 years in the league still coming from that alone. Batum is everything we all hoped Prince would turn into 10 years ago

Monroe, Middleton et al. partying at the strip club 'til 2 in the morn. before the Lakers loss. Monroe was a late scratch that game due to a knee injury suffered at the morning practice after.
