I doubt Weaver is willing to move on from Hayes this quickly, and neither of those guys has much value off ball right now.
To be honest, Hayes looked looked decent off the ball in stretches with Lee and Joseph. If he just becomes a serviceable shooter he'd be pretty good off ball.

unless hayes drastically improves as a scorer then he pretty much can't be a primary ballhandler. much more hyped playmakers (like lonzo ball) have to play off-ball because they aren't good enough scorers.

then you have guys like collin sexton being given the keys to the offense, and it's purely because they have the scoring ability to put pressure on the defense and beyond that they're asked to make simple reads to keep the offense flowing.

suggs is an interesting case just because of his role on gonzaga but i still like his chances a lot better than hayes' to become a lead ballhandler.

I haven't watched basketball much over the last year or two but I am always excited by young talent coming in. Who do people trust for info now that Draftexpress is behind a paywall? Where do y'all like to get info from when you're behind?

I’ve been watching a bunch of Adam Spinella’s YouTube videos. I think he does a good job of breaking players down. He really digs into the defensive side too, favors it a bit too much as he has Garuba 7th because of his D. He’s got a full spread sheet on nearly 200 players with video breakdowns of about 100 of them. He also has articles on his site box and 1

https://www.thestepien.com/ - they don't do as much analysis as they used to, but they still do scouting reports if you like those

https://www.prospectiveinsight.com/pi-pulse - really good new analysis sit

https://twitter.com/theboxandone_?lang=en - very thorough scouting work

https://twitter.com/deanondraft?lang=en - he doesn't do as much as before, but he's still interesting.

you can still find free insight from draftexpress here: https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/bestavailable

Anything Jonathan Tjarks writes at the Ringer is usually spot on.

Their draft guide by Kevin of Connor is okay too https://nbadraft.theringer.com/mock-draft?_ga=2.28670460.171800838.1623417743-2065315377.1597952155
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

Cade did a interview on Redicks pod. Hes a well spoken likeable kid. He said he replicates his game off of Luka being a lead ball handler, similar size, and deep 3s. Man lets get this guy.

1 week until the lottery, I'm fulfilling all my superstitions for the next week lmao

A top 3 pick would be huge for this franchise, I would be very happy to walk away with either Cunningham, Green or Mobley.
40% chance for us to pick top 3, lets get lucky

Many people have Suggs right there with Mobley and Green so I'd say top 4 pick is good which were 52% so even better. Actaully its possible Suggs goes pick 2 or 3 anyways so if you're targeting a diff guy 4 may be good enough we shall see.

Sounds like Scottie Barnes is the guy rising right now. Hearing rumblings he could even be pick 4 depending on the team and is looking like the 5 pick on many draft boards.

he's a very unusual prospect, quite unique. There is certainly something intriguing about his game + physical profile.

I think actually prefer him over Kuminga tbh. If he develops a shot he could be a star on both sides

I think Kuminga has a higher ceiling but Barnes is a lock to be at least a solid player. As you said if he can learn to shoot maybe he could be a all star. Overall I'm glad people are getting higher on Barnes because it gives us another well regarded prospect in the top 6.

I think Bouknight will keep rising as well, spurred on by how Booker is playing for the Suns

It is so, so rare to learn touch in the pros. Gaining range, yes, that happens, but basic touch, not very often at all. Barnes lacks touch, so despite his amazing physical profile and overall skill set as a handler, defender, and passer, I’d avoid him, even at 6th.

I mean, Ben Simmons is an all NBA defender and Philly has to sit him on possessions in the 4th quarter.

No thanks to guys that project as permanent non-shooter, with no signs of improving.

If you draft Scottie Barnes you basically have to sell out on him as your point guard like Magic Johnson. If your not ready to do that I don't think it works long term. Either that or you have to have a genius level coach that knows how to fit him in.

Even Dray was shooting 3s with confidence during the Warriors dynasty

Not saying Scottie Barnes won't get better..
But I'm not taking that risk at 6 if I'm not ready to build my whole team around him.

Watching Barnes in the NCAA tournament he seemed to disappear quite a bit after the first round game. That's all I've seen of him though, and he was a freshman.

He disappeared during the game against Michigan. Personally I thought he looked out of place, not great at any one thing.
