Its not for rose its for Portis who would be a great fit next to Drummond.Collymore wrote:zeebneeb wrote:You know my brother floated this trade idea to me and its far fetched but depending on how bad the Bulls want to shed Roses contract...
Rose&portis for Jennings, Baynes, Tolliver and next years 1st.
Why would anyone give up a 1st for Rose?

Rose has been that bad they'd have to include a young gun/pick to gwt someone to take him...
I don't think it's gonna happen though & certainly not for a package involving 2 bigs - they've got enough bigs

Re: Around the League
So I like to read every board out there from time to time to see what other fans are saying and I found this little gem on the Knicks board (Of course) when discussing Reggie Jackson and Phil vs Stan Van Gundy as a GM(on a side note some of them still insist Jackson isnt a pg or even that good but thats not what im currently laughing my ass off about) and here it is;
"But even taking that out it the equation. They got him for a 2nd rd pick, a back up PG & a back up SF. This guy might be an all star this year. They have a better record than us with arguably the same or maybe even less talent."
You cant make this crap up.

Re: Around the League
Well, Carmelo is more talented than anyone on the Pistons... But talent only takes you so far. When you look at our roster I don't see a ton of talent either... I see Dre who is an athletic freak, I see KCP who works his tail off, and I see Morris who also was just given away for nothing, but is a surprisingly talented player that 95% of fans probably don't realize how good he is (I know I didn't). I could buy into the argument, that on paper, the Knicks have as much "talent" as we do.

Re: Around the League
there getting to the point where they may use the stretch provision. Kieff is apologizing but the situation isnt going to fix itself. market apparently dry. it would be destiny for him to get cut and then sign here

I agree, He could be had for basically free right now and he would be a good fit especially having both Morris twins locked at 13 mil per for the next 4 years sounds good to me.

Re: Around the League
As long as Kieff is coming off the bench I'd be ok with it since we need bench scoring.
Otherwise, hearing all the cross-court passing to each other (the twins) and other on-court shenanigans from real PHX fans are enough to pause on obtaining Kieff.

Yes we need to go after Markieff like YESTERDAY. No reason not to now since Phoenix probably wants rid of him

I actually want him so Ersan can go to the bench.

He's a good shooter and will still get big minutes off the bench when we are stretching out the floor but I also want someone tougher out there tat can also post up at times next to Dre. Drummond could also use a little help defensively up front.

Re: Around the League
So, Dre is 3rd in east front court voting behind LeBron and Paul George. There's a pretty good chance he could end up starting unless Melo gets a huge surge in votes.
Unfortunately Wade and Kyrie are leading votes in Eastern guards, which sucks because neither of them deserve it. You could argue Wade should get it on legacy alone but it's not like he's retiring this season. Looks like 2 more deserving players could get snubbed because of this, and I fear Reggie may end up being one of them.

Reggie will probably get snubbed, John Wall has more of a name than him after all.

Re: Around the League
Wizards have quietly won 4 straight, looks like they'll probably be back in the playoff mix soon.
As I said when the year started, its totally possible this Pistons team could show huge progress and still miss the playoffs and land in the 9-11 spot.
Cavs, Bulls, Magic, Pistons, Wizards, Pacers, Celtics, Hornets, Raptors, Hawks, Heat.
3 of those teams aren't making the playoffs. Wow.
Heat are actually a major candidate for a dropoff. They have played 19 home games and only NINE away games so far. NINE.

No way! Rose is more fragile than a vase. He'll be broke by the time he hits the floor of the Palace.

Of course the year we start playing respectable basketball is the year the East turns into the West.

Re: Around the League
Well, the Western conference was too top heavy, it was bound to implode with any of those top 5 teams over there being contenders since last year.
And like BigShot said, the East slowly got its groove back in God knows how long to being respectable now. It's going to be REALLY hard to be in the playoffs.
No game should be a given especially the way we play sometimes. Honestly, I'm down for this year being a true development year (sort of like how the 2013 Blazers were, how they were competitive but had no bench) and trying to add a young talent somehow along the way.

Jennings, KCP, Stanley, Anthony and a protected 1st round pick for Butler, Snell and some 2nd round picks.
Pistons going full throttle win-now mode. Jackson, Butler and Drummond trio looks really nice. While Bulls take their chances by getting two young wings who are really promising on defense. Could imagine Thibs pull this trade off if Butler is going crazy against the organization, but not sure what would Hoiberg do. Jennings is a threat offensively, which made him a significant improvement from Hinrich or Brooks. KCP and Stanley could be the Green and Kawhi of the east, which is the best defensive wing combo on their conference.
TT board thread . What you guys think? would you do it?
I stated that we become a worst team now and in 3 years, and where the pistons currently at don't need to make such a move. While its easy to get caught up in the brand name, we don't need to rush, and we actually take a step back as team. Now i know some of you think that we can play all our players 40mpg throughout the season but in real world that is not realistic and begging for injuries.
Jennings+KCP+SJ+first rounder> Butler
Also because of this thread i did a comparison of KCP and Butler in year 3. Oddly enough similar numbers. While this doesn't prove anything, it does show that KCP isn't Kyle Singler which is how other teams treat him
