Off chance that Dallas traded Zinger for Dimwiddie to make Brunson expendable. Brunson + FRP for Grant could still happen.

Nets could trade for Grant.

Really think we're looking at moving him to Portland in the off-season, though, honestly. Or maybe even keeping him and seeing if this core can work (Cade, Grant, Bey, Bagley, etc.).

Still 3 minutes left. And that's just the deadline to have the trade approved by the league office, not necessarily announced by the media. Point being there could still be a trade in the approval process right now.

I'm fine with it if we decided not to sell low on Grant. I'm thinking the offers just weren't good enough, and that's OK. I'd rather keep Grant than trade him for THT and a '27 FRP.

And "keeping" Grant in this context (he has to be on the team) literally only represents until the end of this season. 28 more games and then it's all open again.

Shams confirms no deal. Very surprised no team was desperate enough to give us an offer we couldn't refuse.

My guess is his value slides and he continues to shoot around 40% while inhibiting our offensive growth. Hope I'm wrong.

I’m not too bummed that Grant wasn’t moved. He’s a nice player on a decent contract. He’s seems to be a good teammate and a hard worker.

I just hope offensively he can’t fit his game around Cade rather than vice versa

I don't think that moving Grant would have had the impact we were necessarily looking for anyway. Not really surprised to see him still here and certainly not upset about it. Woulda been nice if somebody wanted to overpay, but moving him just to move him was never a particularly good plan.

Now our priority shifts to trading Olynyk this offseason.

What teams need C help?

I don't think two FRP's is "the moon," especially if it was with just garbage filler back to make the salaries work.

That's sales, man. He asks for two FRP's, maybe hoping someone offers one and some kind of prospect. And maybe no one did.

I think it was a lot more about "He doesn't fit, he's worth something, it's a failure if we don't get something" than anything else. Personally I don't consider a non-move a failure. Keeping Grant and signing him to a 5 year, $150 million extension would be a failure. So Grant stays and totally bogs down the offense for 28 more games. BFD.

Weaver got us into a good position cap-wise.

He could screw that up by extending both Bagley and Grant
