If KCP and Johnson are better than Butler in 3 years I'll eat my socks.

Pistons going full throttle win-now mode. Jackson, Butler and Drummond trio looks really nice. While Bulls take their chances by getting two young wings who are really promising on defense. Could imagine Thibs pull this trade off if Butler is going crazy against the organization, but not sure what would Hoiberg do. Jennings is a threat offensively, which made him a significant improvement from Hinrich or Brooks. KCP and Stanley could be the Green and Kawhi of the east, which is the best defensive wing combo on their conference.

TT board thread . What you guys think? would you do it?

I stated that we become a worst team now and in 3 years, and where the pistons currently at don't need to make such a move. While its easy to get caught up in the brand name, we don't need to rush, and we actually take a step back as team. Now i know some of you think that we can play all our players 40mpg throughout the season but in real world that is not realistic and begging for injuries.

Jennings+KCP+SJ+first rounder> Butler

Also because of this thread i did a comparison of KCP and Butler in year 3. Oddly enough similar numbers. While this doesn't prove anything, it does show that KCP isn't Kyle Singler which is how other teams treat him

Some treat him worse than Kyle freaking Singler on this board alone. They're clueless. It's been that way ever since we drafted KCP over Burke and that innate cognitive dissonance is still lingering to this day.

I wouldn't do that trade because RJ and Butler are both effective with the ball in their hands. It'd be a disaster for them to try and coexist. Heck, that's the prime reason why Butler seems disgruntled all of sudden, with Rose being back in the lineup, Jimmy is less effective having to defer at times and he knows Rose ain't good enough to warrant the touches he gets.

Actually, if the rumors are true that the Bulls establishment is questioning Butler as a player, then trading him makes sense.

Getting someone of Butler's caliber is pretty rare especially a guy that can occupy both 2 and 3. I'd think hard about that trade.

While there is problem with usage and our offense, its not the primary reason why i wouldn't do that trade.

1.) We take a step back in our rebuild. While we have more talent to build around, we aren't necessarily a better team this or next year and we lose significant assets and flexiblity

2.) This move would put us at 2 seasons away from contention, 2 seasons from now i'd rather have SJ and KCP and i'd say we'd be contending at that point. This move doesn't move up the timeline and hampers our build.

3.) Look at JB's numbers in his 3rd year and KCP's in his 3rd year. There quite similar . I AM NOT SAYING KCP WILL BECOME JB. I am saying KCP is trending to be a very good player. and SJ is further a long at 19 than JB was.

Interesting night in the East with 9 of the top 10 teams (excluding us) having games tonight. One of IND/ATL and one of CHI/TOR had to lose and MIA & WAS dropped games as well. Unfortunately both CHA & ORL managed to pick up wins and those are the two directly in front of us. Even thought we're sitting in 10th we're still just 1.5 games outa 3rd. The crazyness continues.

Boban Marjanovich from the Spurs is a huge ogre of a player and makes Dre look like a regular forward and he's shooting pretty well from the charity stripe.

Really, there are very little excuses for bigmen nowadays to not shoot even average from there.

Cleanthony Early shot in the knee. That's really cold-blooded. Robbers boxed him in on his Uber ride, shot him, and took his jewelry and the gold caps in his teeth. I hope he can play again, but this is assuredly career-altering and most likely career-ending.

Charlotte is about to go into a brutal January with some key players banged up (Batum, Lin, Hawes) and Al out for 6 weeks so Detroit should make up some ground there.

I think I read that he doesn't have any structural damage. Thank God for that.

Still an awful thing to hear.

the fact that all signs indicate our record should improve concerns me. I feel like our teams at its best with its back against the wall

To play devil's advocate it could be good for a young team as a confidence builder. That grind always comes post All-Star break so it's good to get the W's now when you can get them and keep building chemistry. Detroit is in a good place right now with Dre and RJ gelling and Jennings just now working his way into shape w/o too much pressure. Get healthier, fill out the bench some more and Detroit should be as tough as anybody when the going does get tough.

Boston lost to the Nets today. Every little bit helps our playoff chances.

Draymond has really proven me wrong. He's going to go down as one of the greatest 2nd round steals with Arenas and Monta.

Nobody really remembers that he was a second rounder.

Scouting was different back then I think. A player like Rodman would have been less likely to fall so far in today's NBA.

I'd consider Draymond better than all 3 players honestly.

Big Dray is the next evolution in PFs tbh. The swiss army knife of PFs that can truly do everything well, from defending, playmaking, and driving with the occasional shot. I would honestly trade anyone outside Dre for Draymond.

Props to GSW's FO for getting players like him and developing them.

Nice to see that the stance on green has changed from when we were discussing if we should target him or not. What I really like about green and think is his biggiest selling point,is he has a winners mentality and take no prisoners atitude.Kid just hustles his ass off and it infects everyone around him.Not to mention he has a very high basketball IQ,guess that whole MI thing went out the window.

I honestly don't think he was even interested in coming back to play in his home state. I'd put it about 75% leverage for GSW to pay him and 25% wanting to come home IMO.
