They sign Jerryd Bayless for 3 years and 27 million. Would you rather have Ish for what we got or Jerryd for 3 million more per year?

Bayless would have been a good option too. 3 for 27m is a good contact. I'm fine with the Ish Smith deal if that extra 3m goes towards adding another solid rotation player. It's a coin toss. Neither player brings much to the table defensively, but are still decent backups at a fair price.

For me, these PG deals have been reasonable. I was surprised Augustin landed a 4-year contract at 27m. Seems 3 and 20m would have been more in line with what he's worth.

Yeah, its all about the price and the flexibility. The moves made here (moving Meeks and signing the cheapest pg signed so far) convey pretty clearly at least in my mind that he considers the 4 our priority this offseason and wants to make sure we have the flexibility to bring in the right guy (or guys) to fill those minutes.

For what it's worth I wouldn't have taken Bayless at the same contract the Pistons gave Smith. I'm just not a big fan of his.

Bayless is a shooter that can barely run an offense. Ish is a floor general that can barely shoot.

We needed the latter to run our second unit -- Baynes can't get his own shot, and neither can Bullock. Stanley can but probably shouldn't.

Good signing at 6 mil. Really good. Ish is electric most nights, just need to limit his shots from the outside.

I think Bayless is a shoot first type point guard. I like Ish a lot better, he can spread the ball around and get everyone on that 2nd unit involved and PnR with Drummond.

I would be stunned if Cleveland didn't match that. Actually a pretty good deal in this climate.

If true, that's one deal that I would regret Detroit missing out on. That's the only one for points guards so far though.

That's... a lot for Hill? Maybe? I'm not sure anymore.

We all know Howard is going to the Knicks. Why does this dude always do this during his free agency period.

Seems like a pretty fair contract for someone who averaged 4 points a game last season lmao
