I see Boston making a trade before the deadline

They've got the assets needed to load up and there's a few difference makers that might be available

They need (IMO) a legit big to either anchor the D (Noel) or O (Cousins)

Other than the Celtics & Bulls I think the East is what it is and there won't be trades within the Conference because no one wants to help someone else make the playoffs cause standings are tighter than a nun's cun×

Yeah, I'd put Charlotte over Boston for sure. Boston's coaching is league's better than Charlotte's. Orlando has a better team but their inexperience might not show it. They straight up gave Charlotte an ass kicking to start Charlotte's slide. Miami has a lot more talent but also half their roster can wake up on the wrong side of bed and end up missing time. Indiana I can't figure out. PG13 really spackles over a lot of their holes and Vogel is an underrated coach. Ian Mahinmi as your feature big should not be this effective, apologies to all the Mahinmi fans out there. They really smell like a team that defenses will figure out as the season winds down but as long as George and Monta keep balling out, who knows.

Charlotte is in a serious slump. Everyone is fairly banged up and when Batum doesn't play Charlotte basically turns into Scarecrow sans brain and just regresses into Kemba hero-ball. Coach Clifford keeps yelling at his team to play defense which is what he gets for influencing the GM to fill the roster with as many shooters who can't play a lick of defense as possible last off-season. Clifford can't coach and it's becoming apparent that he has too much Thibs in him after riding hobbled starters too long in a fruitless comeback attempt against GSW. The result of which was losing badly to a bad Suns team thanks to everyone but Kemba having dead legs. They have a B2B with LAC and Denver this weekend and if they lose both games I can see the FO making moves. January starts to get easier after that but there still aren't that many pushovers.

I have a lot more faith in Detroit making the playoffs than I do Charlotte.

lot of games of interest tonight. Raps Wizards. Raps lose they also have 16 in the loss column. Orlando loses more seperation from us, and Indiana in New Orleans would match our loss total. Mimai in PHX if they lose they are 15 for the year. A little help would be from other teams would be nice.

Toronto is a weird team for me. I know they won 49 last year, and they know they have made the playoffs but they dont scare me at all. In any way shape or form.

Right now New Orleans is bombing Indiana. I dont know how long they can keep it up sans Davis, but how sweet would this Indiana loss be?

Pretty sweet. Pacers have come out strong in the second though. We'll see.

Looks like Washington really is done this year. That is another team that is a mess and are hoping on Durant of some sort of savior. Aging bigmen, and players that dont quite fit. Miami at PHX in 20 but I dont have high hopes on that one...

Miami is still a team to watch as a potential "fall off a cliff" candidate. They have played 23 home games and only 12 away games so far this year, and are a mediocre .500 team on the road, meaning their schedule is probably pretty brutal as the year progresses.

Oh yeah I posted that in the Pistons playoff thread. Miami is going to be TESTED.(deep monotone voice) 16 of the next 18 on the road and the schedule after doesnt let up.

Cliff is exactly right and with players in their age bracket they rely upon there is a very real chance they drop way down in the standings in a few weeks.

I really like Devin Booker. I was so wrong about him.

https://streamable.com/16q8 scores 11 by himself in a little over a minute.

I just got done watching the Bucks Mavs game from last night and man am I glad Monroe is gone. Besides all his warts he is always complaining and screaming at the refs and it hurt the Bucks repeatedly because he didnt get back.

He was screaming that he was fouled when hes not almost everytime hes under the hoop. Oh and the Bucks are a bad "team". Good individual pieces but they need a trade in the worst way.

Well, no one helped us last night but this hawks bulls game is a win win for us no matter who loses. Those are the types of games I like.

I really like Kent Bazemore. He's a much better player than Fournier or any other wing that may help us.

It also helps he's getting literally pennies on his contract right now.

Looks like last night's game was Lionell Hollins' last game as the coach of the Nets, and Billy King's last overseeing as the General Manager.

Frankly, I'm surprised it took this long. Billy King should have been out of there in early 2014, when it was already apparent the KG/Pierce trade was a total disaster.

Said it before and I'll say it again, I cannot recall a team being in a worse situation than the Nets are in right now. Terrible team with only one first rounder and no lottery picks coming until 2019 (unless of course the Celtics miss the playoffs in 2017, since the Celtics have the right to swap picks with the Nets).

Im actually surprised they did it now to be honest. That franschise is utterly ruined for the next three years with no draft picks and a roster of garbage. I dont think I have ever seen a team from the top down in such a bad place. The sixers are terrible and everything they have done has been terrible and they all should be fired as well but they at least have talented players ready for a great coach and GM.

Who in the HELL is going to take the GM and coaching positions? They are not going to put anything good on their resume for the next three years period. How do they get another job when they are indeed fired? Its like winning the lottery and you know that if you collect the winnings your dead in three years. Tough call.

Look for Lopez to get moved for picks quickly and it's going to be to a team that makes everyone groan in the East. He could also end up out West in Dallas as well. They have one real trade asset and thats Brook. Picks are coming back in that deal. Hell Boston could end up with him.

I like Baze also. He's quietly having a great season.

When SVG signed Meeks, I said Detroit signed the wrong former Laker free agent. But I was flamed for it.

I really didn't think he'd semi-blow up and play this well as a Demarre Caroll replacement. He's surpassed Caroll IMO. I'm really impressed at his development since the days of him being GOAT-worthy bench celebrator on the Warriors.

For sure, I wasn't impressed with the Meeks signing at all. SVG hasn't had the best FA signings thus far. Trades are good.
