Lol are you a Bulls or Wizards fan? He's 5'7 and just lost his little sister. Also was in surgery for 6 hours for his tooth. Then proceeds to have the game of his life. We can talk about how he's been overlooked but that narrative is too old.

Miss me on the carrying too, half the league does it. Fred Hoiberg just couldn't figure out a way to stop him without Rondo.

He trains and learns with the best athletes in the world, including Floyd Mayweather and studies film with Kobe. He's a freaking stud for being 5'7.

Just imagine Sacremento right now...they had Demarcus and IT but decided they liked Darren Collison better.

No, you weirdo. I'm a Pistons fan. On the Pistons board. Who are you?
Carrying isn't jaywalking. "Everybody does it" is invalid.
It's an irrational dislike. I get that he's a great offensive player and he's succeeding despite himself.
and he's 5'9" without shoes. Maybe I'd be moved if he lost his sister, his tooth, AND two inches.

That's precisely the point I was trying to make, an irrational dislike. You can still root for other teams in the playoffs when the Pistons don't make it. I thought we'd have some common ground as my handle is literally a former wolverine alumni, but considering you run with the Wolverines, I'm not surprised by any of your comments.

Let's meet in the middle and call it 5'8.

"I’m a little guy — I’m only five-foot-eight — so unless you’re a huge basketball fan, you’re probably not going to recognize me around town. I’m not like Jared Sullinger ducking into the doorway of a restaurant. I blend in."

"But Thomas is telling it like it is. And he’s seemingly been consistent: He gave the 5-foot-8-inch figure in a 2012 TV interview, too."

https://www.boston.com/sports/boston-celtics/2016/04/15/isaiah-thomas-height-5-8

Aren't you presumptuous. Jamal Crawford is great. You trying to advocate for a player who annoys me, not so much. You read "I can't bring myself to like him" and you think "oh! Floyd Mayweather will do the trick!" Maybe you can convince me to have a taste for IPAs while you're at it.
We're sports fans. Being a Pistons fan to begin with is arbitrary enough by itself. We can like and dislike different things.
I do root for other teams. I want a good series from GSW and Utah, hope Harden loses to SAS as he stops manipulating the officials, want Washington to beat Boston, and wish there was a way for Toronto and Cleveland to somehow both lose in 7 games.
I'm not going to root for Boston even if Jesus of Nazareth suits up for them. Maybe I'd like IT more if he wasn't buoyed by obnoxious East coast fans.

Honestly, I think at this point, until Lebron retires, I don't think the East will ever be safe since there's a lack of talent compared to out West and Lebron is just that good.

So in essence, I think I'll be happy if the Pistons can be perennial playoff contenders, rather than aiming for a chip in a foolhardy and all-in mentality. Just give me a good watchable team that tries hard every night that makes the playoffs only to be swept by Lebron. I've accepted it at this point.

It'd be nice for us to build something that can actually take the East just as LeBron is falling apart.

Maybe that is SVGs plan?

I mean a consolation prize of building around SJ, (KCP?), Tobias, Ellenson + whatever high draft picks would've been ideal. I'm always of the opinion of smart and calculated tanking that focuses on young talent growth (high minutes) and making key signings on fliers/euros

You've seen the flashes from Simmons in other Spurs games during the Regular Season. Can he actually do it for another team and consistently? I doubt it, not many Spurs do when they leave.

So Joe Dumars is on a shortlist to become GM of the Hawks. This isn't to praise or bash the move - Joe built an amazing championship team that had long term success from nothing and he also built a horrible team full of the most laughable contracts in the league. This post is just a big WTF to Amin ElHassan for this:

ESPN NBA insider Amin Elhassan, who was a fellow guest, is a former member of the Phoenix Suns front office. He provided a rousing endorsement on the program.

“He’s shown consistently the ability to find value in any place. Anyone can pick well at No. 1. It’s harder to find an Andre Drummond at nine, Tayshaun Prince in the 20s, to sign a Chauncey Billups, who bounced around the league, to trade for a young Rip Hamilton, a Rasheed Wallace, who everyone said he’s a cancer. This man has a great ability to find value.”

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2017/05/13/joe-dumars-detroit-pistons-atlanta-hawks-rumors/321321001/

Hard to find Drummond at 9? WTF? When Drummond dropped to Toronto, their fanbase was jumping up and down because here was Andre FREAKIN' Drummond dropping to 8. We were all hopeful, but WHO WOULDN'T PICK UP ANDRE FREAKIN' DRUMMOND AT 8? And then they didn't and Raptors fans were on suicide watch and we were all partying like the Ewoks on Endor. And there was NOTHING controversial about trading away for Atkins, Hunter, Sura, Rebraca, and a pick.

Again, Dumars made some great moves - finding the Sheed trade was one of them - I just can't believe this guy has held respected positions in the NBA and is saying stuff like this.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

It may be time to realistically acknowledge that it was Hammond and not Joe D. My favorite player of all time traded junk and earned a championship team out of it. His later trades didn't deserve to completely bump him out of the league. Meanwhile his "assistant" has retained his GM spot and made some good trades and free agent pickups. After the success Joe D had, you don't suffer for another job (especially for someone who was a great role model) unless it wasn't really you.

Think it was obviously Hammond considering you could (probably) chart our demise from his exit

That'd actually be an interesting study:

When did Hammond arrive & when did we start making the right moves?

When did Hammond leave & when did we start making the wrong moves?

Who replaced Hammond?

Since no one bothered:

Hammond was hired April 11th, 2008 by the Bucks

In June we fired Flip and appointed Curry as Coach

In November traded Chauncey for Iverson...

Safe to say that's April 11th was the beginning of the end?

Ben was already gone IIRC but we still had Dice, Sheed, Prince, Rip, Billups

Hammond left and our FO turned to ****...and then we fired Flip...and then traded Chauncey!

How is any of that relevant to what he did while employed with us?

He's done Ok in Milwaukee but nothing amazing

Joe failed miserably after he left!

Is it possible they balanced each other out?

Or do they not fit your narrative?

K for this game, the Celtics completely shut me up. They willed that comeback and win out of nowhere.

Now the playoffs are interesting. Hopefully.

If there is a coach you want designing a play at the end of game, out of a timeout, Brad Stevens is the guy!
