We are playing out the string and hitting the reset this summer. We'll let Stuckey expire and walk without getting so much as a late 2nd for him.

What could we get for Stuckey? A heavily protected first from a contender? Only A second rounder? Have to take back a contract?

If nothing happens, that's extremely telling that they'll likely bottom out except some rookies and build around Dre. Which should've happened a long time ago.

Nothing substantial will happen and we'll still be stuck with Jennings and Smith with no clear way out of the hole unless we get a miracle GM who can deal both of them and maybe even Monroe after the season.

Worst case scenario is keeping both Jennings and Smith and Monroe. Next worst case is trading Monroe and still having our top 2 fga per game lolworthy players still not getting *it* on the offensive side and our lane still looking clogged.

If we dont trade Monroe now, are we just going to let him walk in FA? If we match a max offer and come back with the same team + 60 mil more in committed salary for the same players, you're right that is the worst case scenario ever. Which is why I can't fathom them not just taking Barnes for him now if the deal is available. Heck even Turner would be better than coming back with the same team next year + $60 mil.

The only reason I can think of is to use the $s this summer... but that's a scary proposition... which is worse his trades or Free agents?
It seems like ever since he said "no knuckleheads" that's all he's brought in via trade & FAs.
As for Stuckey if you look at his stats the last 12 games they are worse than his career average... you don't think Joe would try to re-sign him again do ya?... naw he wouldn't... would he?

I expect us to go after a Center. If there's one thing you can count on its Joe D going after a player for a position we already have two suitable players for (Gordon/Rip/Stuckey, Smith/Monroe/Drummond)

There's rumors Love could be forcing his way out of Minnesota by tomorrow. Says he want to play in a winning culture though, which kind of negates us lol

However there was that tweet from him drooling over Drummond during the rookie game, so maybe he would welcome a trade here to play with Dre. There's also the fact that we probably are the only team that can offer them a young big man anywhere close to Love's caliber in return to replace him in Monroe. Remember when they traded KG they wanted a young big man in return and got Jefferson...Monroe has been compared to a young Jefferson...Monroe would also fit great in Adelmans princeton offense.

That would be something if all this talk about the Pistons "only trading Monroe for an all-star" was Joe legitmately trying to get Love from Flip.

I doubt it, but one can dream...:)

here's an interesting return for monroe in the offseason:
sign and trade moose to the nuggets for wilson chandler, jj hickson, and their 2014 1st rounder. denver could be looking to shop mcgee in the offseason. if they are, this deal makes a lot of sense.

If Love is moved, I'd bet it would be for Lakers top five pick in 2014 draft. Is Love worth one of Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Randle, Exum? Kobe ain't gonna want to wait for the rook to get up to speed...

No. That leaves our front-line too small.

Monroe for Love is a good deal.

how do you figure that? we replace a starting center with a very good backup center, a starting caliber wing, and a lotto pick. that actually makes perfect sense for us.

what about gallo, faried, and their 1st rounder for moose? it really depends on who they like in the draft. if they fall in love with gary harris, then there's no way.

4 team trade:
Detroit out: Josh Smith
Detroit in: Jared Dudley, Ersan Ilyasova

Sac out: DWill, Jason Thompson, Travis Outlaw
Sac in: Josh Smith

LAC out: Dudley, Willie Green
LAC in: Jason Thompson

Bucks out: Ilyasova
Bucks in: Green, DWill, Outlaw

We lower our long term salary commitment for better fit.

Sac turns two backup PFs into a starting caliber one and dump Oulaw to make room to sign Thomas.

The Clippers get a legit backup PF/C and avoid the tax.

Bucks turn Ilyasova into expiring contracts.

I would love to get Chandler, Hickson and their pick for Monroe but there's no way that happens, I'm not sure they would even do it without throwing their pick in but I would.

I just want to get ahold of some of those young guys from the Lakers. Bazemore, Marshall, Meeks, Brooks or Johnson. Most of them are FAs but if the Lakers resign them then maybe we can work out a trade with them were we get 3 of those guys for Monroe.

I know Billups money for next year isn't guaranteed, I believe we can drop Siva as well, Jerebko has a player option that's 50/50 if he's going to pick it up in my opinion, Jorts has a team option but at that price I think we should keep him. Can we drop Datome? I thought I heard we could, if so we could have as much as $27M in cap space if we renounce Monroe, maybe $25M if we get our pick, we could fix this mess in one summer if done right.

The Lakers are likely to renounce them, maybe not Marshall but probably the rest so we could just sign them outright.
