Re: Around the League
Cap space is always good in theory but when was the last time Boston lured a superstar or all star via free agency? Looking at this years crop they have to re-sign their own fa's players with 50m and draft picks also competitions with 29 other teams because everyone can offer close to a max because the tv deal. Will they sign Durant, probably not, that leaves this
Conley - don't need another Gaurd who isn't elite
Wade- old now Mia lifer
Eric Gordon- lmao he's toast
Batum- solid addition but Charlotte will do anything to keep him
Barnes- rfa potentially available but will tie money up for a few days and with a max contract is Barnes worth that?
The fa class isn't that good outside of Durant and every team has room almost so again unless they hit a top 2 pick next year will be another treadmill type season maybe worse if they lose sully to fa

If GSW makes a legitimate run at Durant, Barnes could come a bit cheaper.

With about 15 to 20 teams that could pay a Max contract. Barnes won't come cheap and most likely be overpaid.
No Thanks.

Re: Around the League
Barnes, worth it or not, is likely to get a max offer sheet from a bunch of different teams. It'll be up to the Warriors to decide if he's worth keeping at that price. If they're smart, they'll let him walk for that much money, even if Durant stays in OKC.

Not saying he's the best option, we already have a lot of depth at the 3/4

If we didn't have Tobias/Morris/Stanley I would consider giving him a contract

Yeah I don't think we should sign him with the Wings we have.

With up to 20 teams able to offer Harrison the max, there is no use wasting our time. And, after watching him play a few times this season, I am not sure he is worth the max.

Re: Around the League
Lebron recently went back to Miami - this time with the cover story to work out with DWade. Now even that cover story is ridiculous, I mean we're in the middle of the season and Lebron is working out with a member of another team - a team who could meet in the play-offs. It's crazy.
But then of course around this time last season James went to Miami "for warm weather/vacation" mid-season and came back a new man. This of course led to rumors/claims of a special doctor he goes to down there and a possible HGH boost. It will be interesting to see if he has the same post-Miami mid-season boost he had last season. League should really look into it.

I would definitely spend the money elsewhere than on Barnes.

Well athletically right now he actually looks fairly similar to how he did post trip last year.
So unless nike gives him reflex surgery to improve his shot, I dont think we'll see a difference again.

Re: Around the League
If we could get Barnes for the $15 mil we have left I would be down for that. Let Johnson be our Iguadala off the bench and sign a backup pg for the minimum or draft someone like Valentine.

Barnes can hit open 3s as long as he has multiple superstars getting him those open looks, other than that he brings nothing to the table, waste of money.

Yeah, and we have nowhere near the ball movement that the GSW provides. Barnes would look like Morris 2.0.
Yuck.

Devin Booker is the bright spot in what is a really disappointing organization at the moment in phoenix. He's Klay 2.0.

Once the injuries starting mounting up and when they hesitated on trading Markieff, this season was pretty much done for them. They could swing around really quick, I just think its odd to add Budinger when you are 17-46. He can be a good shooter, but hes not exactly an amazing fit for such a young and rebuilding team.

He played college there, so I think it is just a way for Phoenix to keep their fans engaged as they are mired in such a dreadful season.

Re: Around the League
I guess. I still think I would rather take my chances with a younger/upside player.
