Anyone else read how Banchero has a medical condition where he loses 7 pounds per game of sweat and has been forced to leave the court a few times for cramping. Sounds like something that once he gets a huge pay day might not be worth the risk to play as losing that much weight repeatedly in 2 hours seems bad for the body... 82 games a year.

Maybe I'm way off here and its nothing but if you're taking a guy number one you for sure need to do your due diligence on this type of thing.

Michael Porter Jr fell from a top 5 pick because of medical concerns and now those are being realized.

That's a bizarre medical condition!

Is that actually true? Never heard of any player having anything similar in the last 20 years

Personally I'm enjoying watching the games but I knew we would suck. How many guys on this roster that aren't injured would get even 15 mins a game on a contender's rotation? Realistically just Grant. We lost 2 good role players in Plumlee and Ellington, + Olynyk is injured. Bey is slumping hard. The thunder had KD literally dropping 25ppg in their first season and they still won 23 games. I's gonna take a whole lot more than just Cade to right this ship.

Chet Holgrem is everything this team needs but damn is that frame thin.

I'm changing my stance, as long as we get a top 5 pick this year, we should be good. The big board is looking like

1.Banchero
2. Holmgren (purely off of potential, dude needs to add some weight)
3. Smith
4. Ivey
5. Hardy

I honestly want Ivey, because we wouldn't have to have to move grant if we do get him. We would have enough money to sign Ayton to a max and have a follow up plan of Bamba of we can't land Ayton. Plus the defence would be sick. Only thing left would to move COJO once he opts in for a backup 2 guard.

Ivey / Hayes / Lee
Cade / (trade) / F. Jackson
Bey / J. Jackson / Livers
Grant / Olynk / Pickett
Ayton or Bamba/ Stewart/ Garza

That team is making the playoffs and making some noise.

Don't look now, but the Pistons have the worst record in the league...

Hard to believe Houston has put together a 4 game win streak. It feels like its been years and years since we've won 4 in a row. It will be interesting to see if their young guys are finally putting it together a bit or if they win just 1 of their next 10 and this was just a bit of a lucky streak for them.

I fully expect us to get rolled by the Suns tonight, but then Dec 6th we have a home game against OKC with 3 days off before and we should get win #5 that night.... although OKC is in a long losing streak of their own and will be desperate to get a W as well.

Houston winning 4 straight after Jalen Green got hurt and out of the game is interesting.

Ive seen him leave a few times cause of cramping but that is a odd medical condition

Welcome to the Ivey Hype Train friend. Plenty of room for more.

Generally I agree though, any of those top 5 would be terrific adds for the Pistons. Holmgren makes me really nervous because of that frame but his skills and mentality could be enough to turn him into a high end NBA starter. I think this draft is a little underrated at the top. No Cade or Mobley level guys but plenty of very good prospects at positions of need to choose from.

We lack player and ball movement most of the time which does boggle the mind considering how "deep" we are as a team, especially at guard.

We should be running at all times, pushing the pace so that we can get a decent look before defences are set...but we don't for whatever reason.

That said:

No one should have expected Cade and internal "growth" to automatically add 15 wins to this roster.

Some of y'all were talking about making the play in games

Anyway, back to the Draft and some comparisons after watching Banchero & Smith:

Banchero - Carmelo
Smith Jr - Shareef Abdur-Rahim

After a day looking at film I'd have Chet at 5 now.

Banchero
Smith Jr
Ivey
Hardy
Chet

I have concerns over Chet and his frame

Pretty much agree, I have 4 and 5 switched:

1) Banchero
2) Smith
3) Ivey
4) Chet
5) Hardy

How I see it so far:

Top 4 pick
Jabari Smith
Paolo Banchero
Jaden Ivey
Chet Holmgren

If for some reason Pistons pick 5th:
Keegan Murray
Wendell Moore
Kendall Brown
Moussa Diabate (if he rises like I suspect)
Kennedy Chandler
Nikola Jovic
Bennedict Mathurin

Think all of these guys fill needs in one way or another. Really really wish Vic Wembam and Scoota Henderson were eligible this year. Wouldn't touch Hardy, Baldwin Jr, Duren unless they get it going.

I have Ivey in that top tier with Banchero and Holmgren now. Wouldn't mind any of those 3. A Cade Ivey back court would be top tier but I have a feeling we end up with Holmgren

Chet was sitting in a close loss down the stretch for Gonzaga today. Becoming pretty cautious about taking him. With that said he could easily be a statistical monster at the next level as well.

Confused on where to rank him

I want Jabari Smith Jr or Jaden Ivey but would be happy with Chet or Banchero. Jaden Hardy and Jalen Duren would be solid as backup options if we fall out of top 4.

Chet looks more like a connector player than an offensive anchor. On defense, he should be an excellent rim protector but I could see him being exploited away from the rim.

He is a tad small but Kennedy Chandler is hooping. Don't sleep.
