Desperate for a SF and he posted numbers when he played for Durant early in the year.

Pistons showing interest in Taj Gibson-

Gibson’s name has been connected to much of the league over the last few months, from Los Angeles to Toronto to Phoenix to Detroit to Portland.

In recent weeks, he has not played with the type of energy for which he has been known, and there has been speculation that he is frustrated with the addition of Nikola Mirotic and Pau Gasol (though his playing time has not changed much). Gibson still has two years and $17.4 million on his deal, which is a problem in moving him.

Gibson would be a great replacement for Monroe if he leaves this offseason even though he's a little older than ideal.
I could only see a deal happen after the season though. At least for Detroit.

Yeah, I'm just not buying this right now. The article even qualified "over the last few months," which makes me think any interest we showed was prior to cutting Josh Smith and as part of a Monroe-Leaving-Contingency-Plan. Besides, SVG has proven to be a really straight-shooter so far, basically doing exactly whatever he has said (such as promising "singles and doubles" in free agency last summer and not making any major moves until he'd had a chance to work with the roster). Recently, SVG has said he won't deal any future assets and he won't give up cap space to make a trade, so I believe him. And since I tend to think we'd need to do both to land Gibson, I just don't see this happening at the deadline (however, like dVs wrote, this offseason could be a different story should Monroe leave).

Jerebko / Singler / '15 2nd (top 40 protected)

for

Otto Porter Jr.

Wizards add depth for their playoff rotation, we add a young SF on a rookie deal for a hope at "change of scenery" working.

Kinda off topic but what if we traded DJ in the off season and picked up Lin for cheap (I don't know what he's worth). I hear he is a good defender a drive heavy guard what SVG likes and can play off the bench...we all know DJ is not a good bench player.

This off season? Lin is FA, no need for a trade. DJ would be enough but I think we are better with DJ or trade him for something else.

I don't like Lin. He had a good run but that's it, the rest was average. Doesn't run the team, too much turnover prone, can hit the three but not really good at it.

Charlotte just got Mo Williams and Troy Daniels for Gary Neal and a 2019(?!?) second rounder.

If Lin would play for $3-5 mil per year, I would take him. Otherwise, keep DJ and spend that money elsewhere like SF position.

I was thinking of starting a thread on this, but wtf, I'll just keep adding here.

Very interesting what Charlotte does and what we do when our starting PGs go down. We did have a better backup, and we have to admit Charlotte has much higher expectations for this season. I'm still fine with our approach and not give away any future assets or take on any long term salary to fix losing Jennings. Patience will pay off.

^Mo Williams is expiring, Troy Daniels is on a league minimum contract next year and the pick is rumored to be in 2019 - Detroit willing to pay a 2019 second rounder and take on a league minimum deal in order to have Mo Williams rather than John Lucas III for the rest of the season tells me Stan is tanking but pretending he isn't. I don't know how the players in the lockerroom could take what Stan says with a straight face after seeing what Charlotte paid to get Mo.

I meant sign him in the off season and trade DJ.

Why does Minnesota do this if there isn't a draft pick involved? For the "potential" of Gary Neal? :-)

The difference between a good and bad GM is that you don't make panic moves. Stan is being patient unlike fans here.

I'm okay with what Stan is doing but the risk is pretty low in Chatlotte trade, so is the value they're giving. Unless Minny really likes Neal, it's not really hard to top.

I'm not sure why Minny did the deal honestly. I guess they want to open up as many opportunities as possible for Lavine to play some PG and go into hardcore tank mode.
