It really was a case of them being out youth'd. Things may have worked with LMA in the first 2 games, but his relatively inefficient game caught up to him. Regressed to the mean at the worst possible time.

Also major props to Donovan for basically out coaching Pop. Not bad for a first year coach. Helps to have 2 superstars of course, but still the point remains.
One of the articles I read pointed out the difference in play when the Spurs had 1 day rest vs. 2+. Age was indeed their major downfall.

Still, if you have LMA and Leonard that is not a bad place to be. We know the Spurs don't really rebuild, they just re-tool. Will be interesting to see what moves they make this off-season in order to get younger and really commit to building around their 2 new All-Stars. Do they go for a big 3 and try and land another big catch, or do they make their more traditional under-the-radar moves and re-stock their entire roster?

Either way I have to tip my hat to Mr. Tim Duncan. He was my favorite player in the league for well over a decade due to both his play and how he conducted himself. 5 time champion and arguably the greatest PF of all time. Congrats on an amazing career.

Definitly one of the best, not only is it amazing that he stayed on the same team, but that whole core stuck together, truly one in a million.Wonder if he will stick around and be groomed to take over.

Raptors finally stopped chocking in elimination games

We are never ever going to hear the end of this ECF trip from Craptors fans for years to come on here and Insidehoops and Reddit

True that. Their fanbase is literally the worst. I've never seen a fanbase so passionately deluded.

They're just not classy.

I'm so glad the Thunder won tonight. Hopefully they win the championship and put an end to this weak ass small-ball basketball. Shout out to Ibaka and Adams! Wish we had our twin towers still! :-?

I miss our Piston style of play sooo much.

Here's the deal with Toronto folks, and this is NOT a gross generalization since I've been all around the world...people from Toronto think anything Toronto is the greatest thing in the world.

Good to know you miss us sucking.

The Warriors can't afford to play that sloppy against a good team. That second half was just poor basketball -- the Thunder didn't even shoot that well, but it was good enough against all those turnovers.

Right,we will see a whole different beast the next game.I also think it was a good thing they lost that 1st game, will make them tighten everything down.

I think we're the reason LeBron is tearing it up in the playoffs. Stanley lit a fire in him.

The fact that the Pistons might go down as the most/only competitive series for the Cavs on their road to the Finals is borderline astounding!

No, we should trade away everyone remember? They suck and we just need more one dimensional shooters. The wealth of talent just lining up to play for us are literally dozens!

/sarcasm

On another note, I really wished we didn't choke for that couple games leading up to the final 10 games or so, so that we could've had the Raptors as the 7th seed. Raptors don't even deserve to be at the ECF.

We should be very proud to be Pistons fans. The only team has faced Cavs without making a fool

^Agreed. Outside of game 2 in which we lost by 17 we managed to keep every other game competitive with the Cavs. Meanwhile Atlanta got dumpstered in all but one game and Toronto also got dumpstered in game 1.

Also a testament to how much of a joke their path to the finals is. The Cavs are a damn good team, but the reality is that they will not face a single team with the talent to realistically have a chance to beat them until the finals, something no team in the West can say.

That's how it's been for a majority of Lebron's post season while the Western conference has always been a bloodbath with the Spurs, Nash-led PHX, OKC, LAC, and of course, the Lakers.

That's why Lebron is really lucking out that the Eastern conference's biggest powerhouse was really, only BOS during their big 3 era. Everyone else on the East felt less frightening compared to the West.

Still got the young Greg Oden, two other young different centers who doesn't fit very well each other, an european PF who got talent but has never played in the NBA and the D-League guards collection. They're 3000 miles ahead to be a competitive team. They got some pieces and talent, but right now is a dysfunctional team with loser mentality.

Joel, Okafor, Noel, Saric, #1 pick, Covington...

Trade Okafor for a stellar guard...

Joel/Noel
Noel/Saric
#1/Covington
Junk
Dude from Okafor trade

I don't believe they're as far away as "people" think.

Sometimes all it takes is a stroke of luck and all of a sudden things can get rolling...look what happened to us when we got Sheed

Don't forget the bench, and the most important thing: Until they proves something, NOBODY wanna go there to play for them

Potential bench of:

Ish Smith
Stauskas
Covington
Saric

IF they play their cards right Philly could be 2 seasons away

THAT is why dumping Hinkie now was necessary. He laid the foundation but it was disjointed

Now you get someone to bind it together for 2 seasons...I'm looking forward to what they can do
