Think about it this way- when the cap is $108 million, Reggie will be making about 50% of what Westbrook and Curry are earning annually on their new max contracts.

Anthony Davis signed an early extension AND had escalators (he's already made two All-Star teams and was first team All-NBA last year), so his extension is waaaay bigger (and doesn't start until after next year, which also makes it bigger, as it's a percentage of the cap).

So, yeah, Reggie's 5/80 could have been 5/90, tops, and it wasn't a max contract.

Moose signed a max contract, but only a three year one (3/50 is the biggest three year contract you can sign coming off a rookie deal or QO).

We figured all of that out before douche bag decided to add his two cents.

Personal attacks like this are not appreciated on this board. Differing opinions are great, even encouraged, but don't attack the person if his opinion is different than yours. Thx.

Every post this guy has is a personal attack on somebody, he brings nothing but insults to the board, this has been an issue for a while. There was no differing opinions, it was him simply insulting everybody as always. Why don't you attempt to find the last time he had an actual conversation on these boards and didn't just drop insults, quite a challenge, hope you're up for it.

Yup. I was pretty clear in my previous post and I doubt anybody on this board would disagree.

I would, and I reported you for your insults.

Actually that's not why I called him a douche.

I stated why something might be the way it is, another poster corrected me, then later on he trolled me with an insult. I asked him to explain to people why they are wrong instead of insulting them and leaving it at that, then he insulted me again. After that, I called him a douche.

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened. Too bad public record completely discounts your recap of the events. I never insulted you and even explained that I wasn't even directing what I was saying to you or singling you out. I just made the comment of this being a situation that I've spoken of in the past of posters not knowing what a max contract is, because.................oh yeah, you didn't know what a max was. I then pointed out how people have been in debate on this forum about basically what a player should be paid not realizing that they probably agree with each other more than they can see, just simply because they don't even know what numbers they're debating.

But again you took it personal for some reason and insulted me. Not that it matters because your words ain't worth 2 fine hairs on my a**. Your insults clearly bothered others more than it did me. But like Big Lip said, I'll get back on topic. You've been on my ignore list for over a year just to show you how little what you say matters to me. You don't have to worry about further "trolling" from me *rolls eyes*. If only this f'ing phone wouldn't log me out of my Realgm account which then allows everyone's comments (unfortunately including yours) to show up the next time I'm reading the forums, we wouldn't even have had this exchange. Death to damn Android. Glad for Reggie.

      Guys, guys.

Multiple mods have now told you to stop hashing this out like this and continue with the topic at hand. I will now be the third.

Detsho, I speak now in particular to you. Saying "lets get on topic" after getting YOUR last word in doesn't make what you did any better, as you continue your personal jabs AFTER the call to get back on topic. In fact, it makes it a little worse. Don't pretend to respect the mods who are trying to keep the topic on track while at the same time sticking it to them.

Consider this a warning. I'll gladly take action if this continues.

"I don't think they can talk about it but I can," said Jackson, adding that his goal is to make the Pistons and their fans think, in five years, that $80 million was a bargain for his services.

"I am hoping people say I am underpaid," he said.

"As long as we have good chemistry and we are all about each other and the team, and nobody is worried about themselves, we can do some special things. Hopefully bring another gold ball back to the city."

      How's this for a mind-blowing stat?

When the cap hits $108 million, the max salary for players coming off their rookie deals will start at $27 million... And Jackson will be making about 60% of that.

KCP I hope you get better but not TOO much better, okay?

And he's locked up for five years. Really puts things in perspective.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
      1) It's less than the MLE
      2) He can be traded later
      3) It's only __% of the cap
      4) The cap is going up
      5) It's only __ years
      6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

      Glad Dumars didn't draft MCW.
So happy we dodged that bullet.

RJ will be unleashed next season. The guy's swag and all-in attitude is fun to watch. Reggie's on-court chemistry with our franchise player Andre Drummond doesn't hurt either. :)

Mcw has so much skill. If only he had a jump shot. He's pretty much a rich mans version of dinwiddie. Hopefully Jason kid can figure it out. Some ppl like what milwakees doing , until they see the fg %

Reggie, Drum and Johnson are true Blue Collar players reminiscent of Detroit past teams. Can't wait to watch them develop over the years.

This is so true. KCP also has similar mentality.

Can't wait for the season to begin.

      Return to Detroit Pistons
