Re: Trade deadline thread
The Lakers, and other teams, have had interest in players like Bojan Bogdanovic, but have found the asking price too high. With so few sellers on the trade market, the Detroit Pistons have set an asking price of two first-round picks for Bogdanovic. Over the next week or so, trade talks are expected to pick up more around the NBA, according to Wojnarowski.

I’ve heard the Lakers and Pistons have discussed a deal that would include both Bogdanović and Nerlens Noel. Since the Pistons are demanding draft assets in any deal for Bogdanović, it’s sort of a given that the Lakers would have to surrender a first-round pick to make a deal. Maybe they make a second deal to fortify the rotation further. Will they be willing to trade both picks that are currently trade-eligible? The sense around the league is they won’t. But we’ll see
There’s no way they’d give us both.
It’s hard for me to get behind a deal for a pick so far in the future.
Unprotected and we can dream of Otis Thorpe to Vancouver again

Re: Trade deadline thread
There is no point in trading anything until we see how the lottery shakes out. None of our players are going to loose that much value between now and then and thats the biggest question mark. If we win the lottery and get Victor they I say trade Bagley for a point guard, I think Killian has been playing well enought to be the starting point guard and slide cade to the 3. If we get any other pick I say trade either bojan or Bey, because the pick is probably going to be Brandon Miller unless it the 2nd pick. Only people I would move would be COJO, Noel and possibly Diallo, but I'm leaning closer to keeping Diallo cause he has been showing signs of doing better.
Win the lottery
Hayes / whoever we trade for
Ivey / Burks
Cade/ Bey
VWem / Bojan
Stewart / Duren
Lose the lottery
Hayes / whoever we trade for
Ivey / Burks
Cade/ Bey or Bojan
Stewart / Miller
Duren / Bagley
We should have a good squad either way. But the only way I make a trade is of someone is really really desperate and it's an offer we can't refuse like 2 unprotected first for Bojan.

There is some urgency to make a trade and that is injury. If we get good offers for Bogdonovich, Burks or Noel, we should do it.

Trading away one of Bojan or Burks will also open up a roster spot for a younger guy next year, as well as give more shots to one of our younger guys this year. I'd love if we started running a few plays each night for Livers or Duren to get them more accustomed to creating for themselves or their teammates. It's another development year so lets keep pushing to develop those young guys.

Yup BB is a older guy. Better to move him into a asset that cant get hurt. Safer holding draft picks that can be traded later.

Wish warriors had some **** contracts to send us. Would luv to get a young guy or 2(Wiseman Kuminga) to add to our core instead of dead money and just draft picks (Lakers)

Very odd the fanbase consisting of the same group of people that was so adamantly against $30 million/year for Ayton is seriously discussing and open to giving Porzingis $40 million/year. What am I missing?

Not me. Porzingis is good when healthy, but if we’re taking on a big contract at the trade deadline, I hope it’s for a stud 3. But my preference is to wait until the summer to get our big name guys. In the meantime, draft picks and young prospects will do just fine.

And who are these people? Zeeb? I'm pretty sure he wanted Ayton. I sure as hell don't want a maxed out porzingis.DetroitSho wrote:Very odd the fanbase consisting of the same group of people that was so adamantly against $30 million/year for Ayton is seriously discussing and open to giving Porzingis $40 million/year. What I said was if they would take Bagley in a sign in trade who is 12.5 mill per for 3 years back I would be ok taking Porzingis. Since were losing Bags bad contract in the deal. I dont even want Bagley at the minimum salary on my team.
Yes I would pound for pound rather have Porzingis then Ayton. Porzingis protects the rim and can shoot. We could use him at the 4 he would be a nice pick up IF we missed out on Wemby. Ayton is a throwback to the 80s center not paying this sort of guy 30mill per.
Ayton is having a down season and so are the Suns. Hes on the trading block now the Suns are in a bad spot. Luckily we have Duren on a nice cheap rookie deal!

Re: Trade deadline thread
Porzingis is definitely not a guy I’d give the max to.
Not sure there is a guy I’d give the max to that we could realistically get with our current situation. He’s an injury risk and just isn’t quite the guy he was projected to be for years.

Re: Trade deadline thread
I'd be surprised if Pistons made anything beyond a minor move at the trade deadline. I'll hope so, because right now I don't see much reason to watch them as a team right now, but realistically? It just doesn't make sense. Pistons will get more impactful players than Burks and Bogan? How? I want a team that can be competitive next year with a coach that hasn't lost his team. Potential trades are fun to think about, but none have actually made sense to me.
No way is Porzingis getting 40 million a year from any team not named the Wizards. And I was definitely a fan of going after Ayton, but to be fair to myself and other posters like me, Ayton has seriously regressed this year. Man got his money, Phoenix is a hot mess, and he's not going to play savior or even that hard.

I don't see what numbers you are looking at.
If look at his averages this year and compare them to prior years I see very little deviation. For better or worse he's the same guy he always was; with no appreciable improvement year over year whatsoever.
I personally viewed this as a big reason not to go after him with a max contract. Ayton getting paid 20 million to do this is acceptable. Ayton getting paid 33 million to do the same thing is not.

Re: Trade deadline thread
What would be the price to acquire Ruy Hachimura?
We are trying to develop equaly unimpressive prospects like Hayes, Bey, Bagley, Livers and co, might as well try to add another card to the fold.
Would a bunch of 2nds be enough?

Yep. Ayton's quite literally the same guy each year but some really wanted him bad which is...fine, just don't see the whole point in investing top dollar on the frontcourt considering where we're at in the league standings
Zingis at $40 mil per is slightly to definitely worse than Ayton's contract but both aren't likely going to take this team to the playoffs anyways so no point in wasting dollars on the frontcourt for now

Sort Saud he seriously regressed and I was just saying by raw #'s he looks like same guy as previous years to me
