For some reason, Flip has been playing him off the ball starting with that Boston game (He played a little more on the ball against Dallas because it was garbage time). It's obvious Flip just doesn't trust him, so he's giving the ball to either wing veteran (Prince or Rip) who is on the floor at the time. It completely negates Stuckey's game which is all based on attacking off the dribble. And neither Prince or Rip can get the offense running smoothly, so the team struggles.
Another case of a young guy not being used properly.
We disagree on this. Flip has been playing Stuckey off the ball for the last two games but in both games Tayshaun was acting as point forward. IMO-Tay is more effective with the ball in his hands and Tay having possesion of the ball has been a major factor in him starting to play more aggresively. It has less to do with Flip not trusting Stuckey and more to do with needing to find ways to make Tay more effective offensively.
Stuckey doesnt really play off the ball with Rip, its just that Stuckey has a tendency to overdribble and no one gets open for him except for Rip who usually connects on his drives.
When Stuckey is acting as a full point (especially with Afflalo out there too), he really is not getting anythng done out thre. Its only his 11th or so game, so Im sure in time he will be able to run the offense but right now he just isnt there.
Glad Detroit pulled off the win, hopefully they can go to New York and win tommorow
