Ummm no you were wrong.

You said OKC beat the slow footed aging Spurs by going small - they didn't! They beat them by playing Kanter more - so they went BIGGER

You then said they're beating GS by going big - wrong again since it's the small ball line up you mentioned doing the vast majority of the damage

Your general point was correct but your specific details were craptacular

OK. Enjoy your correctness fully. I'm good.

Every time OKC plays Kanter and Adams together against GSW they resent. Ibaka and Adams are the real problems for GSW, since Curry is not full healthy and they can switch with the little man.

It's not the bigs!

It's the ability to stay home on the perimeter and force them to create off the dribble (which in general results in a lot of inefficient mid range shots)

Having Ibaka in the middle means they're not going all the way to the rim.

Having long athletic defenders means every shot/pass is contested.

The fact those defenders can switch all over the floor just makes it that much harder for GS to work a favourable match up.

Those things combined with Billy D working some magic has stifled the Warriors flow

People also need to consider what 3 or 4 stops can do to a team that is working so hard to make any kind of offensive play.

3 or 4 stops can easily turn into 10 as your opponent gets frustrated or starts to force things.

A half step too early or late on a pass

A misread on a cut, curl, pick...

All of a sudden every little mistake seems to compound and every trip down the offensive end is no longer a walk in the park - it's a walk through hell

Most incredible thing is OKC's defense during RS was pathetic, with a lot of shaqtin a fool moments. Their improvement is something I've never seen in the past.

The line up they're using to do most of the damage wasn't used much in the RS if memory serves.

I think it's a product of a few things converging:

1 - not being fully dialled in during the RS

2 - the different line up

3 - Billy Ds coachingadjustments in general

4 - GS being banged up more than OKC

People put the injuries first - and that doesn't tell the true story IMO

I know that SVG really wanted one of Danny Green or Demarre Caroll last summer, and I'm really glad we didn't get into a bidding war for those 2.

Danny Green fell off of a cliff, and he's not better than KCP. I'd easily take KCP over him due to being younger and more athletic.
Demarre on the other hand, is a hit or miss for me. I think he's overpaid for what you're getting for that position. I always see him clanking shots but he's shot it better than I thought overall.

Wiz about to offer Beal the max. Raw numbers aside, I don't think a guy who offers nothing other than scoring and shooting and has missed 81 games in 4 seasons is worth 25% of your cap.

He's shown a bit in the playoffs, but man that's quite a bit.

I thought the same thing. He's injuries are the worst part. That seems like a huge gamble for Washington

Beal is vastly over-rated by many on this board.

And apparently by the Wiz FO as well

Damn right I didn't. He's easily number 2 if I'm building a championship caliber team.

And here's to all the Warriors haters out there tonight.

Hate hate hate hate

OKC ownership has blown a dynasty IMO.

They've had Ibaka, Durant & Westbrook for how long?

At every opportunity they've gone the cheaper route.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Durant leave for a better owner - one who will spend what it takes when you're that close to a championship

Durant is a big part of OKC's failure.

People who say Harden is the best SG in the league should look for another sport, maybe golf or something like that.
